Priesthood authority died out with the prophets. Isn't a restoration of that authority required for proper church leadership?

I was raised in a JW family but was never baptized. For some reasons too long and unclear to explain here, I decided to quit a few years ago. However I am currently on my way back and really enjoy my decision.

In the meantime I got married with a girl I am deeply in love with. However she doesn't share my beliefs. She is not doing any opposition and has not really any problem with it, though it sure isn't exactly what she wishes. It might not be the best thing for a couple not to share religious beliefs, however it is not that bad for now. It might become more of a problem when we will have kids but I am not too worried about this for now.

So, I would really enjoy reading good experiences some of you have had living with a non-JW wife or husband, whether they have eventually got interested or not. I am sure I am not alone in this situation and many of you have encouraging experiences to share!

Thank you! :)

I cannot understand religion. What makes you believe in your chosen religion? Why that one out of a hundred of them? How can you believe in something just because it is written in a book? such theorys as the big bang seem to me to be more beliveable so why not to you?

If you do, then this question isn't for you. If you don't, how do you explain Genisis 19:30-38?

I was wondering, what is it exactly that you believe that is different from other Christian religions? I know some people who are Mormon and they seem like really good, honest people. Ive seen a lot of Mormon bashing on here but I dont want to make my opinion about something that i dont know a lot about.

Why do some people recommend not painting a wall black or using too much black in the house. One friend of mind said, that negativity can hide in dark areas. Another friend said, she knew someone who painted their room black, and they became depressed and thaught about suicide.

Yes, I know about the psychological aspects of color, but is black an exception when decorating?

State your facts and sources. I have theory I think God created the first organism on earth then that organism evolved on its own.

From the Old to the New Testament Christ's church has always been led by a prophet. If the Catholic church is Christ's church then why isn't it led by a prophet?

Whats your take?
It is believed to be as a result of desperation. (This is obvious to many, but not all)
And please don't try to argue this, it has been socioloigically validated tons of times.

Is it OK to have a 2nd wedding ceremony? My husband and I were married in a very nice small ceremony with some close family and friends to witness it. We were considering maybe having a bigger one when we are more financially secure...is that wrong? Would God be mad at that? I mean, we are already married, so we don't need to the extra ceremony...

I am a believer. I try to follow His word. His word says that the best we can do is to love. We Christians lose focus of this way too much. I know, some Christians are so, self focused and really, just bad people. But it's because they aren't living out their faith. But I truly just want to know, why? Why, don't you believe. I want to understand. I understand the doubts and questions. Not them, but having them. Please, no rude answers. This isn't a debate. I don't want to look down at you for your beliefs. I just want to understand.

as an atheist I am happy to make friends with different religion and background, in my eyes they are all human and should be loved, even some of their belief is different but they are only trying to make life better for themselves. But some christian friends of mine are quite judgemental about me and my lifestyle, they think i am 'dirty' for living with my boyfriend without marriage, they also have many opinions about me but conveyed in a non verbal way, should i continue be friend with judgemental christians like this, if so, how?
