Well....yes...and no. You can do a big ceremony with all of the hoopla if you want...I say great...more power to ya.
But...technically speaking...it's not a "second wedding". Do a "renewal of your Marriage Vows". I do those all of the time...
God bless you.

sometimes couples renew their vows at an anniversary celebration. That certainly is socially acceptable.
I know one couple who had a small ceremony because the groom was in the military and going to Iraq on short notice. When he got back from Iraq, they had a large elaborate affair and were "Remarried" by a minister.
I don't think God will be mad... just don't be dishonest with people about why you are having a second ceremony.
god bless

They consider it renewing vows, the ceremony is a little different, but it is similar to a wedding and I am sure with a meeting with the priest/pastor/minister personal preferences can be worked out - have a million weddings if you ask me. My grandparents did it for their 50th anniversary - they are Catholic. Why would you think it would be looked badly upon? I always wonder why Christians are so fearful of their God....

It always seems the most silliest thing to have second wedding, you mean the first one was to cheap and a more expansive one is better. The cost of the ceremony is relevant, it is the epiphany of decadence to me.

I really wouldn't worry about what "God" thinks...do whatever you want and can afford to do.
