Priesthood authority died out with the prophets. Isn't a restoration of that authority required for proper church leadership?

Yes - the aaronic or levitcal priesthood was restored by John the Baptist May 15, 1829 to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdrey. The Melchizedek priesthood was restored later through Peter, James & John. All men in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who hold the priesthood can trace their priesthood lineage back to these ancient prophets.

Priesthood died out with the destruction of the Temple in AD 70.

Jesus, we are told, is our great high priest and mediator. The priests dealt with the sacrifices of the people which were given for sin. The Christian church no longer needed these sacrifices because Jesus was the perfect, sinless sacrifice for the sins of believers.

The authority of any church comes from the word of God - not from the fallible word of men and women. Anyone usurping God's authority is surely putting themselves in opposition to God.

Precisely the reason and need for a restoration. And we are blessed to have had this restoration occur. The proper priesthood authority has not been on the earth for over 150 years. It was restored again to the earth through Joseph Smith.

I hold that same priesthood and was ordained to it by my father. My father was ordained by his father, and he was ordained by an apostle. That apostle received it from another person who had received his from Brigham Young. Brigham received his from Joseph Smith, who in turn received it from Peter, James and John. Of course, Peter James and John received it from Christ.

So, I can trace my own priesthood "line of authority" directly back to Jesus Christ. Its awesome!!!!

Yes, if it is a valid priesthood. It has to do with "Worship in Spirit" and the Original Kingdom Gospel.

A real priest is one who is living the power of the Kingdom in everyday life... a rare thing these days.

It is also about the Original "Word of God." The one Jesus was talking about in the parable of the Sower... and the Word that came to John the Baptist out in the wilderness.

Yes, and that was a very nice question. Thanks.

This resource is about the Original Kingdom Gospel and the Orilginal Word of God.

Well if GOD's Word is not taught correctly ch by ch. He will remove the LIGHT from that church. There are only two churches Christ found no fault with in Rev 1-3.

Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Church authority, knowledge, etc never totally died out. Therefore, there has always been a remnant of people following the truth. We should align ourselves w/ those people and follow God and his Word.
