Yes, but not in the way that people try to present us as changing our doctrines constantly to prove that we are a false church.

One example of a change, as a result of modern revelation, is the Word of Wisdom. This law of health was not followed at the founding of the church but was instituted as a result of a revelation to Joseph Smith.

Polygamy is simply not practiced right now, but there has not been a change of doctrine. It is a biblical practice dating back to the greatest old testament prophets.

Blacks receiving the priesthood is very similar to when Peter received his revelation from the Lord to preach to the Gentiles. If you condemn the way the blacks received the priesthood, you must also condemn the Lord's vision to Peter. There can't be double standards.

As far as Father K's comments are concerned, not everything believed by every member of the church is considered doctrine. This is an unfair double standard that the church is held to. If you are not going to hold every church responsible for everything their leaders or members have believed or voiced, then you should not expect this of the LDS church. Just because a member or even a leader says something, it does not automatically become doctrine. Sometimes even leaders do not understand everything. In the New Testament, for example, Peter did not understand that circumcision was no longer necessary and Paul had to correct him. Even though Peter was preaching it at the time, it was not correct.

I hope that this helps.

Continuing revelation, which is an LDS doctrine states that God reveals his will to his children all of the time. I would answer your question that God communicates to his prophets regularly.

LDS doctrine, however, remains the same. There may be minor changes, but it has remained the same. These minor changes are consistent with what the Lord desires.

For accurate info on the LDS, look to the source of the water and not drink from downstream. In other words, go to an LDS source

Yes, however it is done so sneaky that even members don't realize the change. Think of it as a business that is constantly changing. I work for Directv and we are constantly trying different advertising approaches and customer agreements in order to try and boost revenue. Exactly how the LDS church works. The LDS church is at an all time decline so I would imagine some kind of alteration is going to be in order soon to combat this downfall. Check out how rich their president and vice president ect are.... They must know what they are doing and run the business very well.

Many.

Ignore the ridiculous thumbs down and check out the websites already provided.

Major changes occurred in the temple ceremony in 1990 and a minor one occurred a couple years back.

The recent change in the introduction to the Book of Mormon contradicts the teachings of a great number of past Mormon "prophets."

It's very slippery.

The original beliefs of the church have never changed but some of the practices such as polygamy and african americans holding the priesthood have changed because those things aren't doctrine. Due to our belief in modern day revelation there have been new practices and doctrines added but the original beliefs never have and never will change.
