please help..
very long story short.
I cut ties with a couple of family members who were habitually, intentionally abusive for many years
I do/have forgiven them,I also learned through the good people here at r&s that forgiving someone doesnt mean you have to continue to associate with that person,or allow yourself to be further abused!!

well,it's been about a year,im just starting to heal emotionally from all the pain these people have caused me
now,out of the blue,I recieve this ridiculous letter
saying'' lets just let bygones be bygones''????WTF???
not even an apology or acknowledgement of all the damage they have done

this letter is just adding insult to injury,by referring to a lifetime of abuse as a ''bygone''
please, advise me on the best way to handle this?
btw..the best desicion I have ever made was to stop associating with them

for the first time in my lfe,I am finally starting to feel like a real human being who is worthy of respect&consideration

thanks!!

As many of you know, I started out with "iqfrenzy", but I changed it when people started saying I thought I was smarter than everyone else. Because I still wanted my name to be recognized, and let people know I was the same person who posted under that name, I then changed it to "frenzy". Now someone has emailed me telling me I wouldn't be frenzied if I just became a Buddhist. Should I change my name again?

I was not kind to you in my previous life. Now that I am one of you I know what it feels like. I am blessed and grateful to God for this experience for now I am on the fast track to assist us in our challenging lives here.

I'm sorry. Please forgive me for I did not know what I was doing.

She is the matriarch of our family. She never married and always took care of everyone, dozens and dozens of us. She still has her wits, watches football avidly, and likes to talk on the phone. My dad has been close to her for 60 years. She was better to him than his parents or other aunts. So it will be hard on him when she goes. Hard on everyone. She is the queen of the family.

For several days, at least, I haven't been able to think up as many ridiculous questions as I used to. If I pray real, real hard, will God email me some new ones?

people who pray to other gods are just as likely to have a miracle occur as you are. do you attribute these miracles to chance or is their god answering their prayers too? when they don't get what they want, do you assume that their god doesn't really exist, or does their god's answer also sometimes no?

Perhaps some religions harbour no extremists - tell me about it.
Perhaps Richard Dawson is an example of an extremist atheist - tell us about him.

during the Millenial Reign of Christ?

If so, what is the point of believing now if everyone is getting a second chance anyway?

And by "God" I mean any of the couple of thousand deities it might be. Not just yours.

If your answer is "God already knows where he came from" - how do YOU know that?

Thanks for all answers.

let's say i pray for something and in the event that i don't get what i want, i blame god for not giving it to me.
let's say i pray for something and in the event that i do get what i want, i have to attribute it to being because i prayed for it, and overlook the hard work that went into me going after what i want.
let's say i don't pray and i don't get what i want. i have nobody to blame but myself. i don't blame god, because i don't believe he exists. it would seem just as pointless as me blaming santa claus or the easter bunny.
let's say i don't pray and i do get what i want. then i realize i got exactly what i worked to get. and i don't have to share any of my accomplishment with anyone.
so, what exactly is the benefit of praying?
