If today, God asks you to kill your son, and you do; do you think the court system will believe you and forgive you and let you go?

So why did God ask Abraham to kill Isaac and why was God not arrested for Conspiracy to Murder

One where people like me who respect Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, hindus, and yes, even polite atheists can vote rude people off the island?

just imagine a world where people with honest questions and thoughtful answers could go---where a thumbs-down actually meant something. People with rants and mocking responses would eventually not be allowed into the room as they accumulate thumbs down time and time again---maybe some people at the higher levels, 5-7, would have more weight.

Let's save the island by voting jerks off of it! Amen?

I just don't understand the way you thank, your beliefs. What do you thank will happen when you take that last breath or even last hug from you love ones? Most atheist were christian. What do you believe? Why do you believe it? Do you know? Do you think for yourself, or do you simply accept what others say? Some part in your life you had to make a decision to not believe or never believe in the first place. Maybe you mother or father naver believe and it was past down to you or maybe someone convince you or you just lost faith. Why? What is your story?

First off, some books of the NT had not yet been written when John wrote the book of Revelation, and even those that had been written and were in existence at that time had not yet been gathered into one compilation.

Secondly, the warning uses the words “the prophecy of this book” and also “the words of the book of this prophecy.” The word book in both instances is singular.

Thirdly, it is also interesting to note that John himself added to scripture after writing the book of Rev., which is generally conceded to have been written while he was on the Isle of Patmos. It was long after John left Patmos that he wrote his first epistle.

Fourthly, in the OT also are found similar vigorous denunciations and commands that there shall not be added to the words that were written. (See Deut. 4:2. and Deut. 12:32). If the same interpretation and argument was applied to them as is applied to the closing verses of the book of Revelation, there would be no scriptures after the writings of Moses.

There are NO evolutionists.Belief is not required in the knowledge of facts. You either accept facts or don't.
When you address questions to people that accept facts you can simply address them as "people".The only ones that require a label are those that don't accept the facts. In future can you please use the term "non-deniers of reality".

Because I am Catholic, I want to start reading the bible and start understanding the history.

But I am so utterly confused as to what I should purchase. After running a couple of google searches, I realized that there are so many different kinds, that I couldn't just take one and read.

Sheesh, talk about confusing!

So my question is...why so many bibles, under one single denomination, and why not just one?

And...

Which one am I suppose to get? Or should get?

What is known:
Christians claim; all sins are equal, this is fact
We also know from Christians that we should obey the word of God lest we be subject eternal torture and denied entrance upon God's mighty thrown

What is also known:
Deuteronomy 21:18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

What we can conclude:
not stoning your children to death for rebellion is disobedience and sin against God

My suggestions:
I suggest you rethink your morals, and the next time your kids are rebellious, take them to your oldest Church members and have them slaughtered like impure and wicked humans they are, for the glory of god – If you don't do this then you are no better than your son, and a hypocrite

This is of course a better solution than the wickedness in todays society, where parents only ground their kids, whoop them or have them learn from their own mistakes
of course, what the hell are we thinking turning our backs on god like this, he was right all along

Do you think that kids should be given a choice instead of being brainwash.Do you think kids should be taugh the full evidence for and against evolution and on top of that the creationism theory.Do you think kids should see the evidence for themselves and decide.

Christians are more than happy to explain every little detail of Christianity, and it always makes sense. But ask a logical question, that isn't an attack, of an evolutionist and they go on the defensive right away, make no attempt to explain their religion and always say something like "you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, go away. Go read a book about it."

Now just sit back, and watch them prove my point. This is not an attack, simply a request for an explaination. But all we are going to get is defense, insults, and no real substance. Does it suck being a hypocrite when you call someone clueless?

273. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Treat women well. Woman was created from a rib. The most crooked part of the rib is the top part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it. If you leave it, it remains crooked. So treat women well." [Agreed upon]

In a variant in the two Sahih collections, "A woman is like a rib. If you straighten it, you break it. If you wish to benefit from her, you can benefit from her in spite of her crookedness."

In a variant in Muslim, "Woman was created from a rib, and you will never find any means to straighten her. If you wish to benefit from her, you can benefit from her in spite of her crookedness. If you try to straighten her, you will break her, and breaking her means divorcing her."

The first Amendment clearly states the separation church and state; which states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…

If Huckabee is elected President; he being a Baptist minister any laws created will carry the under tones of his religious beliefs, essentially affect the chance of a clear non partisan objective.

What’s your opinion, Should Congress Prosecute him or Pardon him?

Okay i am just wondering these just questions:

Why if so many people beleive that jesus is holy do they not read a good biblical book? Yes Jesus was a good person who did great stuff but it is documented that constantine (the great) with the help of the nicean council wrote the bible? I am a christian myself but yet i know the origin of my belief.

Also:

Commandment #5 says to honor your mom and dad. What if your mother and father wanted you to follow a religion other than Christianity? If you obeyed their wishes, you would be damned for not accepting Jesus as your savior. If you disobeyed them, you would be damned for breaking one of the main rules. So, what would be the right thing to do?
