One where people like me who respect Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, hindus, and yes, even polite atheists can vote rude people off the island?

just imagine a world where people with honest questions and thoughtful answers could go---where a thumbs-down actually meant something. People with rants and mocking responses would eventually not be allowed into the room as they accumulate thumbs down time and time again---maybe some people at the higher levels, 5-7, would have more weight.

Let's save the island by voting jerks off of it! Amen?

Hey Patrick---we don't kick people out of my church---but if they are disruptive jerks who are ruining things for the rest of us, we make them feel unwelcome until they leave

That's like banning stupid people from free speech...

Hm, maybe not a bad idea sometimes.

Might be a good idea. Maybe all you believers should form your own R&S forum, but don't you already have one in the form of your own churches, synagogues, temples, and mosques? This atheist, on the other hand, is individualistic, and would never join your type of R&S forum just because you'll grant me membership for being "polite." Besides, "people with rants and mocking responses" are inevitably reported and their questions/answers deleted. Finally, do you REALLY think that such a forum will not deteriorate into another hate-filled mess, since people of different beliefs are so intolerant of each other (but hypocritically say they are not) that they soon start bashing each other, just like they do now in YA R&S? I appreciate your idealism, but mourn your naivete.

Peace and blessings be upon you
the pure and honesty are aims from all religions and minds.
Your idea is nice but how can do it?
i am as muslim and believe in all other prophets and respect other religion , i can't mock others or make fun of them ., i hope also all people respect each others , as we live together , not away from each other.
But really , most of people with mocking responses are atheist or unbelievers, so they need much talk , i also don't understand what they want ; or they said it by themselves "we want enjoy" .

The idea of Union of religions, to unite the common things that are acceptable to all the faith and to unify the people was tried earlier too, but with little success!

However it is always needed to have a common forum to discuss and to share all the things that are acceptable to all the religions and to devise the ways and means of finding a generalized theory of God and to practice certain basic rituals and to observe essential duties that could be made universal for acceptance and practice for all the people of all faith, must be INSTITUTED!

This forum needs to address the basic plight of humanity, namely the poverty and illiteracy plus basic healthcare conditions of poor of the world, and must change the religious perception for effective involvement of all religious minded people to unite under one banner, to do their best possible voluntary services to eradicate them!

I indeed can elaborate and give more of its functioning if people come forward for such a forum!

Stop and consider that you may be the first one voted off the island.... this did not come across very well.

When we dig into deep issues, we will get our hands dirty. That's to be expected and embraced. And we must be strong and deal with it. Running away to another forum is the tactic of a supine coward. I can go head-to-head with anyone on this forum and I will.

''When we all think exactly the same way, none of us think very much at all.''

-Some famous dude. (probably a classical Greek philosopher, but I don't remember)

; )

Let the atheists stay. Some of them are actually interesting. Some of them need a swift kick in the @ss, but there are a few of those in every circle.

Peace,
Drew

Sure. You can go somewhere else off Yahoo! altogether and start your own religion and spirtuality forums - we non-aligned atheists (probably) don't mind, it'd give you less time trying to stuff your beliefs down our throats.
