If today, God asks you to kill your son, and you do; do you think the court system will believe you and forgive you and let you go?

So why did God ask Abraham to kill Isaac and why was God not arrested for Conspiracy to Murder

Because it is not possible to arrest imaginary beings.

God asked Abraham to kill Isaac as a test of faith and he stopped him from doing so and provided a substitute offering.

Today God would not ask anyone to kill their son and it would be totally ridiculous for anyone to use that excuse for committing murder.

That's assuming that there is only one God, and that god is the Christian god. I'm Pagan, and my god would make no such request of me.

For as biased as the American government is in favor of the Christian religious right, one would be convicted of murder even if they claimed that "god" told them to murder as a show of faith.

God is a non-physical being. So apprehending God, and taking him to the police station in cuffs would be impossible.

It would also be impossible to prove that "god" told you to murder in his name. You would need to provide physical proof that he coerced you into murdering. Bigots kill in the name of god all the time, and they just keep going to jail despite their claim of doing "god's" work. Many wars are started in the name of god.

Good luck bringing the Christian god to justice.

Because technically god is an energy not a human.
See thats why religion is silly because god has technically gone against his own 10 commandments which means he should really be going to hell himself. Talk about contradictions.
