Absolutely. I believe we are all capable of such things, so long as we strive daily to improve our power of concentration and heighten our skills of perception. Good old fashioned meditation is probably the best and simplest way of achieving this. If more people kept up with their meditation and mental exercises, we could likely achieve repeatable test results, which could be observed and recorded in a lab.
There are some among us that believe ESP to be the next step in human evolution. Me? I believe that we were created in the image and likeness of God, and that entails more than we actually realize. I believe that when Jesus saw Nathanael under the fig tree (John 1:48), this was not because of Jesus's divine nature, but rather because He had perfected His humanity. The Eastern Orthodox Church has an interesting take on clairvoyance. They are not so fast to label such gifts as ''witchcraft'' as many western churches are. They see it as a spiritual gift, and sometimes as a mark of sanctification, and I agree. We have lost much of the mysticism of Christianity with our modern worldview. But anyway...
Yes, I do believe. Sometimes it feels like a room full of people shouting one word, in unison, out of complete silence, and sometimes it's just a strong feeling, but the connections are always there. We are all capable of this sensing these connections, but some of us are naturally more sensitive toward it than others.
Your friend with an odd flare of psychic talent,
Drew

I'm not sure if "strong empathic connection" is a commonly used phrase or something with a certain meaning, but I'm going to guess you are asking whether you believe that people can have a lot of empathy for one another.
I definitely have a lot of empathy for people. I remember watching a very cheesy commercial a long time ago where a guy was pushed and called a loser in a locker bay and dropped all his books and I felt so bad for him. Kinda funny cause the ad was a super cheesy one for some sort of character building program or something.

FYI, people, she asked the question because we have been chatting about psychic/empathic phenomonae.
I believe that people can share feelings or thoughts at a distance, she is skeptical. There is no weird agenda here, "Friday.'

Yes, my present wife of 22 1/2 years. My mother also seems to know when I am under stress somehow though we live about 80 miles from each other.

I never believed it until it happened to me..It is true it can happen. Sometimes I get the feeling that someone is right behind me, I later find out that person was thinking about me. I once even heard my name whispered . The same sort of thing has happened to him as well..
it's weird but a really nice weird

I've had a few close friends in my lifetime. I will always cherish these friendships.
But for the most part, people drive me crazy and I am somewhat of a curmudgeon and can very comfortably sit at home and hang with my dogs.

Yes, as I have a very sensitive nature and I think the same thoughts at the same time as my significant other. I also, relate to others in the same way, although not to the same degree. We refer to it as great minds.....

I have heard of such, but only anecdotally. Every story I've ever heard has been after the fact - no one has ever said to me "My brother is hurt" and then learned that it was true. I have never had anything like that happen to me at all. I'm willing to believe such things exist, at least in a theoretical sense, but I have no irrefutable data to indicate that it does.

Yes I believe everyone does. I believe we as people all share one even with strangers not just with our relatives.
