during the Millenial Reign of Christ?

If so, what is the point of believing now if everyone is getting a second chance anyway?

Well look, YOU DO NOT GET A SECOND CHANCE, IF YOU KNOW THE TRUTH.
let's say a Jehovah's Witness goes to your house, and they talk to you about god, and all of the stuffs related to Jehovah
then, you became a believer, but later you stop believing in Jehovah and you start doing bad things, at this point, you will not received a second chance because, you already knew about Jehovah's purposes, and you knew the truth, that's why you do not get a second change because you already knew about Jehovah but you choose not to follow his rules.

But let's say you never heard about Jehovah, or maybe a Jehovah's Witness never went to your house and talk to you about him, in this case you do get a second change because you didn't know about him, and because you never had the opportunity to learn about Jehovah, you didn't have the opportunity to follow his rules, that's when you get a second chance, many people in the 1st and 2nd world war, never had the opportunity to learn about Jehovah, and all those people will get a second change.
BUT IF ALREADY KNOW ABOUT HIM, YOU DON'T GET A SECOND CHANGE.
and that's the point of being a believer now
Jehovah gives a second chance because it would be unfair to people who didn't know about him to die.
but if you know about him but you are a non-believer, then you don't get a second chance.
=D

I was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in October 2001 and until a couple weeks ago, I didn't know the answer to this question. I just accepted it because I realize the limitations of my human, imperfect mind.

I asked the Elders out in Service: "Why do we call the Field Ministry a Life Saving Work if everyone will probably be resurrected any how?"
The gist of the answer was: We don't know when Armageddon will come. If people have not made God's ways their own, even though they've been told (or have the Bible, go to church etc) then they will likely be destroyed forever (of course, giving allowance to God's ability to read hearts).
It's like in Noah's day. They were warned and warned and warned again but they chose to ridicule the messenger and disregard what he said. When Jehovah sealed the door to the ark everyone died. They won't have a resurrection, because they heard and didn't accept it.
The people who died before Noah started preaching?- who knows, but many WILL be resurrected because they didn't know, hadn't heard or were righteous.

Armageddon is likened to the days of Noah. We give the message, partially, for the sake of those living when it strikes.
Generally speaking, they will have no second chance.

Not all unbelievers are resurrected. We do not know which unbelievers are in God's memory and thus in line for resurrection, and which are not. Jehovah God is the one who will judge whether a person had sufficient opportunity to learn and practice righteousness or not. Meanwhile, we should not dare to be unresponsive to the clear direction from God's word with the thought that we will have a second chance anyway. Many are having second, third, fourth and many more chances right now. They will be out of chances when they die and thus, they will have no future prospects for life.
(Myranda, sweetie, do a little reseach. Start with 2Thessalonians 1:6-9)

If that non-believer never had the opportunity to learn the truth about Jehovah prior to his/her death, then yes they will certainly get the opportunity to learn in the resurrection.

If that person rejected God's word out of hand, well....who knows. Jehovah will resurrect those who he will. We don't have to be concerned with that.

I wouldn't count to heavy on getting that 'second chance' automatically. Take a look at the deluge. They had their shot and blew it. The thing about Jehovah is, whenever he's getting ready to judge and execute punishment, there is always a time period where people have the time to repent and turn their lives around so to escape the bad thing. If those warning are ignored, rejected, ridiculed, well, who's fault is it really then when judgment comes and you(collective you) find yourselves on the wrong side of the door?

usually, but it depends.

did you KNOW about the bible? about the message being brought to you? did you reject it, not once or twice, but bunches of times?

welllll, God is patient, but the patience is not endless. why should he think you will listen now?
were you mentally ill? were you under threats or duress?
were you illiterate? are any of those reasons you did NOT listen and obey?

then, maybe - MAYBE ! ! you could be brought back with a sound mind and body, and told, 'this is what you must do; this is what you must learn. '

are you thinking you can 'get by' and claim ignorance? what will make you want to study the bible AFTER armageddon? why re you not studying now?

see, you are just like me. a human. you are likely NOT going to change in your attitude, habits or thought processes.

will you change if Jesus comes and bangs on your door and sez, HEY, you need to go to the kingdom hall and start studying.

will you ?

and THAT question, only YOU can answer.

so, in short no, YOU will not get a second chance. you know better, you see and can read, write, talk, whatever. even if a little, you need to make an effort now.

i am not telling you to go to the hall and be there for all five meetings. just visit, get a book, visit, get a magazine, visit, ask for a private bible tutor.

make up your mind AFTER you know who and what we are.

Acts 24:15 - "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

John 5:28-29 - "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."

Jehovah is the Judge and whom he has appointed (Jesus Christ)...

Jeremiah 17:9,10 - "“The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it? I, Jehovah, am searching the heart, examining the kidneys, even to give to each one according to his ways, according to the fruitage of his dealings."

Proverbs 16:2 - "All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but Jehovah is making an estimate of spirits."

Matthew 28:18 - "And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth."

1 Corinthians 15:20-28 - "However, now Christ has been raised up from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death]. For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also through a man. For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive. But each one in his own rank: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence. Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. For he must rule as king until [God] has put all enemies under his feet. As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing. For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone."

2 Timothy 4:1, 2 - "I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is destined to judge the living and the dead, and by his manifestation and his kingdom, preach the word, be at it urgently in favorable season, in troublesome season, reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all long-suffering and [art of] teaching."

Journey Well...

That applies to non-believers who do not believe only because they DO NOT KNOW. (As in had they known, they'd have believed)

Anyone who knows the truth but rejects it is not in line for a resurrection.

Only Jehovah can know what's in the person's heart. That's why the resurrecting is in His hands.

Yes that is correct. They believe death is the payment for sin. In dying you become sinless and when resurrected during the Thousand Year Reign, former unbeliever get a second chance.

The point of it? Well I can't help you there :)

Not exactly.

Many or most dead humans do have the hope of being resurrected after Armageddon, but the bible also discusses a type of death which is far from hopeful.
...(Revelation 20:13-14) This means the second death, the lake of fire.

Interestingly, the bible seems to also synonymize "Gehenna" with "the second death". The bible consistently reserves the expression "Gehenna" to describe the hopeless judgements against those who seem to have committed 'the unforgivable sin'.
...(Matthew 12:31-36;23:33) Every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven. ...it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come. ...Offspring of vipers, how can you speak good things, when you are wicked? ...I tell you that every unprofitable saying that men speak, they will render an account concerning it... Serpents, offspring of vipers, how are you to flee from the judgment of Gehenna?
...(Luke 12:5) Fear [Jehovah] who after killing [with the 'first' death from which there is a hope of resurrection] has authority to throw into Gehenna [or "the second death" from which there is no hope of resurrection]

Unlike the hopeless "second death", a typical death is hopeful because it is temporary, even if a deceased person will have waited centuries or millenia until Armageddon's completion.
...(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
...(John 5:28,29) Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out
...(Isaiah 25:8;26:19) He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. ...Your dead ones will live. A corpse of mine—they will rise up. Awake and cry out joyfully, you residents in the dust [that is, the dead in their graves]! ...the earth itself will let even those impotent in death drop in birth.

But...

pointedly...

God is not FORCED to resurrect anyone, and in fact He has plainly explained in the Scriptures that certain ones will NOT be resurrected. Such ones do not die the hopeful "first" death but instead die the hopeless "second death". Those who die this "second death" do not await the resurrection secure in the memory of Jehovah. Those who die "the second death" are purged from Jehovah's "book of remembrance".
...(Malachi 3:16) Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance began to be written up before him for those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name.
...(Proverbs 10:7) The remembrance of the righteous one is due for a blessing, but the very name of the wicked ones will rot.
...(Isaiah 40:26) all of [the billions of stars Jehovah] calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing.
...(Psalm 69:27-28) May [the perpetually wicked] not come into your righteousness [Jehovah]. Let them be wiped out of the book of the living ones, And with the righteous ones may they not be written in.

The hopeless "second death" is not merely for those who lived lives of outrageous rebellion against all that is holy. The bible teaches that a person who ignores the truth is particularly reprehensible.
...(James 4:17) Therefore, if one knows how to do what is right and yet does not do it, it is a sin for him.
...(John 9:41;15:22) Jesus said to them: “If you were blind, you would have no sin. ...If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

Thus, the prospects for humans today seem to be quite different from those of our ancestors, who died centuries or millenia before any possibility of seeing the arrival of Armageddon, or geographically isolated from true worship. By contrast with the ancients, the bible plainly teaches that many or most among humankind today will live to see 'a day in which God purposes to judge the inhabited earth', which is Armageddon.
...(Acts 17:30-31) God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed [that is, Jesus]

Like Paul's audience at Acts chapter 17, humankind today can no longer claim ignorance about God's will and purposes. As with previous judgments, Jehovah has arranged for a warning work to be performed. Who can deny it? What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally (as Noah did before the Deluge)?
...(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.
...(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
...(Daniel 12:4) Seal up the book, until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant [then].
...(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
