would that be better then being an Atheist? In a study at the University of Minnesota every one including muslims,gay or lesbians, Buddhists, Hindus and more ranked higher as a Citizen then any Atheist! it also revealed that more then 40 million ppl in the US are Atheist.So I would like to know if it is OK to worship Zeus or Thor and if that would make a person a better person in your eyes????

Someone recently claimed they where tired of the insults hurled at their Baptist faith by the Catholic Church. I was raised Baptist and constantly heard nothing but mistruths about the Catholic faith. I have been Catholic now myself for 24 years and never have I heard any insults about any other Christians. How have YOU personally been harmed?

I certainly do, as does my mother.

Jeremiah 10
Idols and the True God
1 Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.
2 Thus says the LORD:

“ Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple.
5 They are upright, like a palm tree,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot go by themselves.
Do not be afraid of them,
For they cannot do evil,
Nor can they do any good.”

It's been said "atheists should not be considered either citizens or patriots." There are still active pieces of legislation that forbid us from taking certain public & civil offices. I think that has made some of us question the religious majority's commitment to protecting our personal rights.

I was happy to see that many atheists, despite their non-belief, are more than willing to stand for a citizen’s right to believe & practice their beliefs. (I'll attach the Q&A link at the bottom)

I'm just curious from a religious stand point; is that's something you'd be willing to do for us as well?

What is the problem with the word sin? What about the term "Wrong Doing"? Does that upset you? How do you feel when someone does you wrong? What if some one killed your child? Would that upset you? If some one stole your possessions, would that upset you? If you wife/husband was unfaithful to you, would that upset you? What if some one falsely accused you of a crime you did not commit (beared false witness) and you had to pay the penalty (go to jail) for this, would this upset you? Well???

although he had allegedly told them more than once that he would get crucified and rise on the third day. For example Luk 9:22 & 18:33

The excuse given by Luke ,that they didn't understand what he said, is very silly and rediculous, not to mention that it contradicts Matta which says that they were greatly distressed when he told them that.

If someone told you that he will die and rise after three days, that's not something easy to be forgoten. How about 12 men being told that more than once by someone who was allegedly God himself?

Doesn't this prove that the whole story is made up?

I searched "Christian forums" in google and I came up with two directly matching results. However, both were for "Christians only" and wouldn't accept you unless you got a referral from a Christian who was already a member...

But when I searched Islamic, Pagan and Buddhist forums in google, every single one was welcoming of non-religious people and open minded to debate and different perspectives...

So is this another example of Christians unwilling to listen to the opinions of others, or just another way to show Christian elitism and exclude and segregate everyone else?

Is this really an example of religious tolerance?

I know many agnostics that have given religion quite extensive study and thought. However some people seem to think that agnostics "don't know, don't care". Where did this idea come from?

It says in:

Proverbs: 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

I mean we are commanded to beat our children n order to save them the tortures of an eternity in Hell. Rebar wrapped in a towel works great. Doesn't leave obvious bruises.
