people who are religious cannot imagine anything in life except religion. believers therefore imagine that atheism is some king of a belief system.
people who are interested in pottery know that there are other things in life. they don't think that stamp-collectors are just a highly specialised form of potters.
people who are interested in pottery are just cleverer than believers.

One can save you and give you eternal life, and the others can't. One is due thanks, praise, our love and devotion. The others aren't...at least not to the same degree.
