Ah the old men it the cave watching shadows dancing on the wall!
for them that is reality but when one frees himself and claims up out of the cave into the light he see another reality.
so he goes back down into the cave to tell the others, but they refuse to believe him.
Subjective reality!
All reality is subjective even if it is accepted by the mass!
The story of Matrix (at least the first film) has a lot of philosophical thought in it.
The real matrix is that of the illusion as to how society works and it's possibilities.
If we chose to stop interpreting our reality as we do, then we will see another (the light outside the cave) But when we try to show this to others they will not accept it!
It's not the film and we will not wake up being able to fly!
But if you free your mind then you will have greater power than before.

There was a NY Times (Science times section) article on this a few months ago. It would take a heck of a LOT of computing power to do it, but some mathematician calculated that if WE ever manage to make a seamless virtual reality then the odds are better than half that someone or something else in the universe has already done that, and then we might, indeed, be living in a holographic projection.
I have no beliefs about this, one way or another, but I'd rather believe we are "real" :-)

The thought did cross my mind when i saw the matrix. also i did experience something similar, however i must admit that i was under the influence of some powerful narcotics. in addition, i have also experienced something similar when i was completely sober of mind. nothing is tangible so i am waiting for more proof before i make any commitments towards a decision.
