In there own way for there own time, though many things apply to everyone in all times.

There are two parts to every religion, one is the basic message and the other is conveying that message. That is over time, culture and environment the message needs to be stated in a new way. Example: A book written in one language may not entirely translate to a book in another language so someone has to make some minor changes to accommodate this. Language changes over time and therefore books and messages may need to be revised so the current reader/listener can understand and relate to it.

In most religions the basic message is Love, Love each other as you would yourself.

Yes, likely. But then again, we're not aiming for accuracy. I like the newest religions. Best if it was created within the last century, if not the past decade. Exponentially, our religions must change so we can go around the spiral so fast we spurt out of the top into the great eternity and godhead.

Depends what religions you are calling older. There have always been a True church from the day Jesus Christ built it and Catholics try to be a counterfeit true church and try to tell people that they are the only ones but do your homework and the truth will show you that they do not follow the bible and have many pagan rituals and beliefs. There was the persecuted Church which had many Christians killed during the dark ages and i consider them to be the true church

Only those religions that come from God are worthy of attention.
There is, in fact, but one: Catholicism as true Christianity. Having come directly from Jesus Christ and passed on to the Apostles (as the first Catholics (Christians) it is 2000 years old.
The fact that most people misrepresent the religion does not make it untrue. If you carefully investigate what the Church has taught since her founding, you will find that Catholicism is the only logical and Scriptural religion.
Judaism is older, but Christianity replaced it.

The essence of all religions are same to bring up the mode of goodness in people's mind so that we do not reject each other based on our so called external differences.

Religions are medium to find the ultimate pleasure in human life which is to re-connect to the divine consciousness so that we can have a stress free life and elevate our soul from this miseries of material pains and pleasures.

So , to answer your question I would say that it is not wise to find faults in other religions and instead we should try to find which religion and it's philosophy satisfies us that we should accept and follow on the path of self realization.

Older religions have more reason for their existence since the people back then did not know any better.

Supposedly we do now.

When taken in context with the oft fronted argument of "christianity and its books are 2000 years old!" as a sign of validity, then yes, which actually becomes an argument in favor of non-christian religions. In general, no. All of them are equally valid as personal paths.
