I searched "Christian forums" in google and I came up with two directly matching results. However, both were for "Christians only" and wouldn't accept you unless you got a referral from a Christian who was already a member...
But when I searched Islamic, Pagan and Buddhist forums in google, every single one was welcoming of non-religious people and open minded to debate and different perspectives...
So is this another example of Christians unwilling to listen to the opinions of others, or just another way to show Christian elitism and exclude and segregate everyone else?
Is this really an example of religious tolerance?

"Who says I have to be tolerant of your religion at my Christian site?"
God told you to be tolerant in the Bible.
Or didn't you know that?

"You just got it worded wrong. The Pagan forums welcome non Christians because they are non Christian."
No, not it exactly.
The welcome everyone. No-Pagans, Atheists - everyone.
The Christian forums only welcome Christians.

I wouldn't generalize about Christian forums based on an experience with only two of them. I'm a non-Christian and I've actually been invited to join a Christian forum.
It depends on the purpose of the forum and also the experiences of that forum. Some forums are looking for debate. Some are not. Some people are just looking for fellowship with likeminded people and non-believers would simply disrupt that purpose. Every forum does not have to be dedicated to debate, and it's intolerant to expect otherwise.

The problem is not Christianity but Man. Christ came so that all people would receive salvation not just the believers. I would question whether some of these Christians have a strong enough relationship with God to enter into serious discussion with others outside their own belief. Good luck friend.

Because Christians and other assorted fundamentalists can't fathom that people actually have well thought ideas about how the world works, ideas that have nothing to do with religion. When your whole world view can only subsist on seeing things black and white, it's not wonder the fundies react negatively when someone challenges them.

Ethan, I had googled too, and read the different rules of the sites...the ones I had found were there to help Christians within their walk...baby and mature alike....
I also found sites for the others you mentioned and found a few of each that were not open to anyone other than their own beliefs/practices.
Seems to me it's much like a school ...why would a person wanting to excel in engineering want to go to a school for Nursing only?

Yes. We Christians like to keep all the good stuff for ourselves and not share with all those others. And, no it is not an example of religious tolerance. Who says I have to be tolerant of your religion at my Christian site?

Some forums are private, and do not want people from other religions bashing them. I know most people would love to join, making an effort to learn with an open mind.
But really, don't you think others would just go there to try to piss them off?

You just got it worded wrong. The Pagan forums welcome non Christians because they are non Christian.
The Bible says someone that has not come to Christ is blind to truth and God will let him be blind until he repents of sin and takes Jesus as his savior.

I think many Christians are taught that if they talk to what they consider to be "evil" then they are tainting their own souls. But...didn't Jesus himself talk to the prostitutes in the bible? Was it not said in the bible Judge not lest ye be judged.
When Christians finally come to the conclusion that it is not for them to judge, but for God, then they will lose their ignorance and fear of other religions.
