I consider myself agnostic, but I do NOT believe there is a "god" that I'm trying to find. No one actually KNOWS for certain if our consciousness continues in some form after mortality ceases, but the concept of an invisible entity controlling every aspect of existence is ludicrous at best! Christians may as well hold onto the idea that the earth is still flat!
I have looked into Wicca, Taoism, and Nichiren Buddhism as well, and though I respect the basics of each of them far mroe than Christianity, there still comes a point at which each one requires one to believe in something unbelievable, accepting it on faith.
For the same reasons I cannot call myself atheist, since I do not preach the black & white "end" that hardcore atheism believes. I'm just fine not knowing if there is an afterlife, because it would take away from learning, living and growing as a person while I'm here. I can learn a lot more without the shackles and roadblocks that religion provides.

Atheist: don't believe in any Gods, at least not any from any specific religion.
Open Minded Atheist: Doesn't believe in any gods, at least nor from any specific religion, but may believe in supernatural and paranormal things, such as spiritual worlds, demons, and ghosts.
Agnostic: Not sure about anything. Haven't decided to become an atheist, Christian, Muslim or anything yet. Deciding to wait it out until they truly believe one way or the other. Their sitting on a fence wondering, should i jump down to the left or right side? I think I'll just walk along the fence till I can tell which side is safer.
Theist: Absolute belief in a specific deity.

Atheism is a position of belief. It is the lack of belief that god/s exist. It can be a strong position ("I believe that no god/s exist") or a weak position ("I do not believe that any god/s exist").
Agnosticism is not a position of belief, but a position about knowledge. It is the thought that it is impossible to have knowledge about the existence of deities. Belief and knowledge are not the same thing; therefore, agnosticism isn't a position of "fence sitting" or "uncertainty" about belief.

Agnostics wrongly think that the chances of a God existing or not existing are roughly 50-50 but this is incorrect.
The total lack of evidence for God or any measurable effects of God in our world constitutes evidence in itself against there being a God and although there is a very remote chance there might be a God that we cannot find any sign of maybe in some remote corner of the universe the chances for God probably not existing more like about %99.999999999.
Atheists think the complete lack of evidence or measurable effects makes the likelihood of God existing just about zero.

Atheists do not believe any god's exist
Agnostics think the existence or non-existence of any god is unknowable.
Those who identify as atheists are stating their beliefs
Those who identify as agnostics are stating of what they are certain.
Many agnostics are probably atheists under the above definition, since they don't BELIEVE any gods exist.
Many believers are also agnostics because they equally state they BELIEVE that some god (often a particular god) exists.
It's kind of rare to find an agnostic who is balanced equally on the fence, since there is a tendency to treat the evidence one way or the other.

It all deals with probabilities. Atheists are probably 99% sure there is no God (and the one percent isn't worth acknowledging). The agnostic may be closer to 50%. Technically they are all probably agnostics, but the atheist wants people to know that their decision isn't a coin flip.

An atheist takes the position that there is no God. An agnostic takes the position that they can not know one way or the other for sure.

Atheism outright denies (strong) or says that their is not enough evidence (weak) to believe in a God.
Agnosticism says that proof either way is impossible, therefore I have to keep an open mind.
Atheist.
