I blow off steam usually by yelling an expletive or two. Then I sit down and try and rationally deal with the problem at hand.

I think about it, discuss the problem with people that I respect and trust, decide on a course of action (as well as contingency plans), then act. I don't really get extremely upset - every problem has a variety of solutions. It's just a matter of finding the best one, which is usually the one that works for as many of the people involved as possible. I don't drink, use drugs, or behave violently, because that is not conducive to problem-solving. I will defend myself if necessary, but it's seldom necessary.

By extremely upset what are you asking?. A death in the family or someone disagrees with me? That is an open ended question not easily answered.

Remove myself from the situation for a few minutes, gather my thoughts, calm myself, then return and try to calmly work out a solution.

If I'm repeatedly upset with a person, I talk with them. If there's no resolution, and I don't HAVE to deal with them, then I limit my contacts.

If I'm upset with a circumstance, I try to figure out whether I can change it or whether I must accept it. Once I decide, I follow that course to its best outcome.

If I'm upset with myself, then I work to find the most mature response I can. Often that means accepting the fact that I have trouble making a particular change, and so I have to work doubly hard to do so.

And to the injudiciously named "Merry Christmas" above:

I don't punch things, smoke, drink, abuse people, gamble, or use drugs. I leave that to the Christians in my community. One of us must remain sober and rational.

Depends on what upset me and if there is a solution. Logic is what I use to find solutions to problems.

I do not let things upset me. Some people will try their best. However, I cannot control their behavior. What I can control is how I react to their bad behavior. I do not lose my cool.

I hop in the tub with a cup of coffee and a good book.

Usually after a good soak the world seems a better place.

And I also find time with my beloved husband refreshing to my spirit. : )

I cry, I write a song, I play some Sims, I get over it.

Or did you expect that I would have a homosexual orgy ending in a snuff film starring all my sexual partners?
