My Sister-in-law started chemo therapy yesterday. She has some areas that are in the second stage and a few that are in the third stage. Please include my brother who is trying to be as strong as he can for his wife.
I thank all of you who will take a moment to pray for them and believing our Lord hears everyone of them.
God bless each and every one of you.

In my opinion religions that expect their followers to have faith or to just depend of scriptural reassurance
about God will eventually lose their grip on their followers (Example- "Post Christian" Europe) or result in
fanaticism (as exhibited by the followers of Islam and Christians in America).Once a degree of critical thinking
gets established , religion starts losing its grip on the followers. Which explaing why critical thinking is being
resisted in countries like Iran,Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

The only religion that will ever survive is one that offers direct perception of God, one that offers proof of God,else
mankind will have to move beyond religion.

Stabbed to death for...being a scientist. Best part? The guy was only given a 5 year sentence (eligible to get out in 3) because he was "of good character".

Thanks Aussies, you've shown us it's not a serious crime to stab an "evolutionist" if you're drunk but "of good character".

So, should we rethink our stance on R&S?

A friend of a friend recently bought a ten pointed star pendant and was told it was a religious symbol but the salesperson did not know what exactly it symbolized or represented. The FoF bought it because it looked nice. After some research, me and my friends have found nothing. We found nine pointed stars and eleven, but nothing on the ten point.

Does anyone know what the ten pointed star symbolizes in Religion and/or Spirituality?

Thanks!

when the bible publishers were putting the bible together some 300 years after Christs death it was documented that they fought for months over which creation story to use. They had 4 choices , two like Adam and Eve and two completly different . after a long battle they finally decided on the one you see now in the bible opening. This is proof positive that the story cant be true , they could have chosen a differnt story and people would be believing somthing different. and thats just 1 example of how the publishers handled the bible

Throughout history, every time human-kind makes a leap in technology or thoughts, a god died. This is why we don't believe the Earth is flat, or a chariot carries the sun across the sky, or Thor makes thunder, or that people can live to be 900 years old (Genesis 5:). We never had to disprove that Zeus or Thor existed, we just gained more knowledge of our surroundings.
What do you think will take us over this last speedbump of religion?

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri (say her name aloud) has recently been studying komodo dragons. She had discovered that these creatures prove that evolution is false.

According to the theory of evolutionarianism, komodo dragons must have evolved from fire-breathing dragons (I'm ignoring what it really says because it hurts my argument). If komodo dragons evolved from fire-breathing dragons, we should expect to find some transitional form.

A transitional form between a fire-breathing dragon and a non-fire-breathing dragon would be a dragon that blows hot air. However, the only organisms that blow hot air are people. (For example, both me and Em Adjineri are full of hot air.)

Since there is no transitional form between ancient dragons and komodo dragons, komodo dragons must have been created in their present form by God. This fact confirms that the rest of the Bible is literally true and thus evolution is false.

I've been working at a spa for 9 months. I work every other Sat & the next I get Sat-Mon off so I don't work OT. I was scheduled to be off the weekend of xmas due to working the wkends b4 and after. I booked a flight for my husband and I to visit our family, which we haven't been able to do in years. Then I noticed my office manager (who is JW) put me back on the schedule to work. I brought it up to her that I wouldn't be in town, in which she replied everyone was required to work because they think they will sell a lot of gift certificates (last year nobody came in, the owner made people wrap her kid's xmas presents.) Then I noticed she gave two other girls the weekend off. When I asked where they were going they said an assembly for church. They are I'm a Christian and the majority of my coworkers are Jehovah's Witnesses. Am I wrong on this? Witnesses and are getting those days off and I'm a Christian and it's a religious holiday for me. I respect their religion but feel like they do

Daily, I read of some atrocity committed in the name of Christianity. I always get on here and read about how "true Christians" wouldn't do this. The message of the Bible is "twisted."
Have you considered that the message of the Bible hasn't been "twisted" by these people? Have you considered that, in fact, you are the ones who have twisted the Bible's meaning by claiming Christianity is about love and the Golden Rule?

Have you considered that the message of the Bible isn't about love, but about domination?

Maybe, you should consider that your desire to be a good person has blinded you, and led you to endorse a belief system that you wouldn't endorse if you fully understood its history.

The message of Christianity has changed to keep up with current ethics. True Christians, i.e. ones who take the Bible literally, burn "witches," keep slaves and murder their own children for disobedience.

Where in the Bible is the Golden Rule?
The burden of proof is on you.

My Great Grandfather was a Mormon polygamist. In 1887 the law put him in a penitentiary in North Dakota because of his polygamous lifestyle.
How do you justify following a church that believes in Heavenly polygamy? I feel your church calls something evil "good".

Because polygamy was practiced in the Old Testament by men who could not control their own lust it does not make polygamy the right thing to do.

I have not read any where in the Bible that God commanded polygamy.

Or jealousy or anger...

and there is no physical or scientific evidence...

Brain scans can observe which regions activate when one feels it, but your only "proof" is that you experience it...

Does this mean that this subjective experience necessarily correlates to an objective entity or substance?

Could the experience of God be as real as the experience of love, but neither actually exists outside of the mind?

See for yourself... Go to Google Maps, type "white house" in the search queue, and hit send... Zoom out a bit and switch over to satellite view and you will see an inverted pentagram built in the city's grid work, with the White House seated right at the tip of it... Architectural blunder? I think not...

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=white+house&ie=UTF8&ll=38.903324,-77.033129&spn=0.03146,0.080338&t=k&z=14&om=1

FYI: An inverted pentagram is the symbol for the Goat of Mendes, or Baphomet, and this symbol is unique to Satanism. Incidentally, Baphomet is depicted as being synonymous with God and worshiped as such by Freemasons, according to a someone I spoke with who associates himself with that group. This is interesting to note, since it's pretty well-known that every US president has been involved in Freemasonry among other secret societies.

Why is our government blatantly putting such a nefarious symbol right at the center of our capitol?

Read the comparisons on these two websites and tell me if you agree with them.
I am not sure whether I agree and wanted to see what other people thought as this is a rather interesting comparison.
