Leviticus chapter 11 lists the dietary restrictions God gave to the nation of Israel. The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than Israel. Jesus later declares all foods clean (Mark 7:19). God gave the apostle Peter a vision in which He declares concerning formerly unclean animals, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.

Hmmm... I don't eat them. I eat chickens... leave the hens to lay the eggs - which I eat those, too. As for goats.. I don't want the meat, and I don't like the milk. Others do.
Not all animals are meant for human consumption - so the person that said, "of course, otherwise they wouldn't be here"... you're wrong. When was the last time you ate a coyote?

No, meat should not be eaten unless there is absolutely no grains or vegetables, but God provided nature in all her abundance and when we take care of her she takes care of us like she does, for all the other creatures. So there is no question of starvation or meat eating when we have so much of vegetarian variety. It's a matter of knowing HOW to prepare delicious vegetarian dishes, and to discover that, you should look for books like "the Higher Taste" or cooking with Kurma", and other karma-free cook books, etc. there are tons of Hare krsna cookbooks and the food is DEVINE!!
Besides, in the most authentic of scriptures (i.e. the one that no ordinary man wrote for others to re-write ) , God clearly states only vegetables should be consumed.
All the people who eat animals: would you like to be eaten like an animal? Just think of how unfair it is to have no voice, and no-one to protect you while you're about to be slaughtered!

Some of them. Some hens give us eggs, some goats give us milk, or entertain us in petting zoos, etc. But yes, some chickens and goats are raised specifically for consumption.
And they are delicious.

Yes. God sanctified all animals for our consumption. But we have different beliefs. If you believe in something, it becomes a law unto you. Some pple rear dogs for food, others see them as pets. some pple see the cow as a god, others see it as a source of food.............beliefs.
What do u believe in? if it is okay for u to eat them.... enjoy it. Don't allow other people's opinions on what should and should not be eaten become a law for you. As long as you are not breaking national laws.

Hens and goats and all domestic animals are guaranteed to survive as species because we protect them (as a source of food).
It is of *significant* advantage for a species to be considered food by human beings.
So yes - its almost as if they want us to eat them.

Absolutely - Act 11:5 I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
Act 11:6 Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 11:7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
Act 11:8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
Act 11:9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Well... they are available to be eaten by us...
It's a fact of this world that death is necessary to nurture life. There is no way to survive but at the cost of something else's life. All that lives must die, and all that dies sustains new life. Life and death create each other.
