I visit there and saw a display explaining about Jesus and Satan. What does the sign say? (Not your opinion of what it says).

Lately I have been reading up about this group known collectively as the Westboro Baptist Church. If you have not heard about them, they are the people who rudely interrupt military funerals for fallen soldiers and raise picket signs such as "Thank God for IEDs" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers". They have been classified as a hate group (rightly so) for their views against the government, homosexuality, the military, and many other things. I personally feel that it is an insult to our country to allow these people to be protected by the First amendment to spew their hate-filled rhetoric and to falsely smear the memory of our fallen soldiers who died to give them the right to preach their message of hate. Tell me what you all think and I encourage people to give both sides of the issue on how they really feel and understand that this is an open forum to state your opinions.

This has been asked before, however, I'm not convinced by this 'gap theory' that says God's days equal a 100 million years.

And the MAIN reason Jesus Christ came down from heaven was to 'amend' original sin caused by Adam and Eve?

It seems in order to believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer I have to believe in original sin. In order to believe in original sin I have to believe in Adam, Eve, the serpent, the Garden of Eden AND creationism.

I want to be a Christian and join a church and meet new people and make new friends. Sing songs and PRAISE THE LORD!!

But I can’t, having read everything from Darwin to Dawkins. And as much as I stretch the bible to encompass the scientific discoveries being made, I can’t turn off this ‘logical’ side of my reasoning from constantly second guessing this religion.

Atheists are up to their shenanigans again. You know, claiming atheism is the "logical" choice or that atheism is on the rise because people are becoming more "intelligent" and switching to atheism. Well...at times I like to test that little theory. Atheists like to test believers faith...and I like to test athiests claims of "logic" and "intelligence".

So.....

I tell the month of my birthday to "Jim The Atheist".
and the day of my birthday to "Paul the Atheist". Then, I show a set of dates,
and asked Jim and Paul which one is my birthday:

4 Mar, 5 Mar, 8 Mar
4 Jun, 7 Jun
1 Sep, 5 Sep
1 Dec, 2 Dec, 8 Dec

"Jim The Atheist" said, "If I don't know the answer, Paul doesn't know, too."
"Paul the Atheist" said, "At first I really didn't know, but now I know."
"Jim The Atheist" said, "I know, too."

When is my birthday?

Please try to answer before looking at others answers. And show detailed steps of your "logical" thinking.

We have enough ignorance in our own religion, why are we bent on bashing other religion we know nothing about.
If we are genuinely curious about some religious philosophy or practice we should ask from the point of understanding it, not criticizing that practice, custom or what ever.

Muslims what do you think of this article that states the Quran said people would not get virgins but grapes? It makes sense if you read the context it was in the Quran:
78:32 Gardens enclosed, and grapevines; 78:33 And voluptuous women of equal age; 78:34 And a cup full (to the brim).

Remember the Ten Commandments of Judaism and Christianity? They seem a little outdated now, huh?

What if we adopted these as our guidelines for life:
1. Do not do to others what you would not want them to do to you.
2. In all things, strive to cause no harm.
3. Treat your fellow human beings, your fellow living things, and the world in general with love, honesty, faithfulness and respect.
4. Do not overlook evil or shrink from administering justice, but always be ready to forgive wrongdoing freely admitted and honestly regretted.
5. Live life with a sense of joy and wonder.
6. Always seek to be learning something new.
7. Test all things; always check your ideas against the facts, and be ready to discard even a cherished belief if it does not conform to them.
8. Never seek to censor or cut yourself off from dissent; always respect the right of others to disagree with you.

Here are some things that some believe to be God's truth and some believe to be heresy- I am curious to know how many believe what. I know where I stand, and I abide by scriptures- so if you can give any scripture references, and ones that ACTUALLY pertain to what these questions are, that is fantastic!
So true or false?
1.Departed loved ones are watching over us from Heaven?
2. All who die in infancy and early childhood will go to Heaven?
3. Hell cannot be as bad as preachers of old used to describe it?
(These questions are taken from a bible study I attend)

Considering they were here for millions of years and the poor little things don't get a mention, I'm sure an angel or even God himself would of said "don't forget about those scaley critters", telling moses or jesus to tell the people of these mighty creatures that onced roamed the earth before them. Maybe even Noah telling him how hard it would have been if he had to put the dinosaurs on two by two. So how come no mention?

How does anyone REALLY know that all this stuff really exists?I have chosen to be Agnostic because I think that the whole "all-powerful-ruler-in-the-sky-that-noone-has-ever-seen-and-his-son-who-can-endure-things-that-noone-else-can" thing is a little too far fetched. Along with the fact that I think Christianity is too over represented. If there are many different Religions, then which one is correct? Of course a Christian would say his/her religion is the right one similar to how a football player will say his school is the best. How does anyone know that the bible isnt fictitious? I think Christianity was created by people, and for the purpose that humans need something to believe. Consider the fact that the "God" they worship can do everything that a normal human cant, yet, "we were created in his image"... a simple mind bender for this "God" is : Can God make a rock so heavy that even he cant lift it, even though he can do anything but fail?"

I was just wondering if anyone actually realized that all the "bad" things that have been done in the name of religion was not in the name of religion, but in the name of greedy, hateful PEOPLE (yes, that's right, your species), who chose to bend, and play with the laws of religion to suit there own needs.

Goodness Gracious (great balls of fire) get over it. Should a black man blame the christian religion today, for the whites who thought that inslaving blacks was the will of God back then?(and yes they thought that).

i've been seeing the word a lot in questions lately, and it seems to be somewhat of an insult to whomever the word is referring to? however the breakdown of the word christophobe means one who fears christ. and all christians claim to be god fearing, so if christians are god fearing and christ is god, then aren't christophobes christians? why doesn't the asker just say christians? it's a lot less confusing and we already know what a christian is?
