We have enough ignorance in our own religion, why are we bent on bashing other religion we know nothing about.
If we are genuinely curious about some religious philosophy or practice we should ask from the point of understanding it, not criticizing that practice, custom or what ever.

[ The epic battle continues!! ]
Mormons Suck!!!!! =)
But seriously, as an atheist, I don't have any issues with a particular religion. Everyone should be allowed to practice (or not practice) any religion they desire.
I bash people that practice certain religions when they try to impose their religious beliefs (or lack of) and practices on others.

There are many religions of man..society and the Creator allows this to happen so an understanding can come forward. What is the Verses mean " The truth shall set ya free" and Ignorance loves company!!

I do not think that bashing is appropriate, but the honest asking of questions with sincere replies is most helpful and productive, in my opinion. Honest inquiry and the exchange of accurate information is how we all learn.

We should expect and apply mutual respect, however.

When religions make extraordinary false claims , is it not right to expose their hollowness? If constructive criticism and exposure of mistakes and faults and speaking the truth are bashing ,it should be encouraged very much and rewarded in the interest of development of knowledge and creating awareness.

I can honestly say I've never attacked the tenets of a religion, and have a fair understanding of a lot of them.

It's the practitioners I bash.

THANK YOU! finally some one with a brain is talking about this issue. i personally hate it when people do that, they act like they know everything but in reality they are just spouting off garbage that they heard from someone they respect and they believe it to be true.
it is so sad that people can't just ask and expect an honest answer in return-
they ask but when they get an answer they don't like they decide that the person must to be brain washed into thinking that way.

intolerance,
with the added aim of proving to be the greatest.
exclusive rather than inclusive attitude.

for the why, the good goes with the bad. one only has to ignore.

but i wouldn't mind nudging somebody if the the limit is crossed.

"Bash" (n) 1. a crushing blow. 2. Informal. a thoroughly enjoyable, lively party.

What can I say, some like a good bash.

You're right, but there are too many people who seem to enjoy belittling others - see, for instance, the first answer you received. Never forget - this is the Internet, the world's first manners-free zone. I'm sure it's exactly what Al Gore wanted when he invented it.

What's this "we" stuff? I have friends of many different beliefs and I have no problem with that.
