One of the interesting things I think about the way Jesus instructed us to spread the news about him is to tell people once, and if they do not accept what you have to say, move on. (Luke 9:5)

So how do you think this applies in life? How does it apply online? Also - the part about shaking the dust off of your feet - what does that mean to you? Is it basically equivalent to saying "I wipe my hands of you"?

Is there a religion that supports the belief that there is some sort of infinate being or higher power, without saying that there was a human version of him on Earth, besides Judaism?

They dismiss God because there is no scientific proof of His existence. However, if something in evolution cannot be explained and creationists say "God did it," then atheists fight back by saying we just don't understand that aspect of evolution. Why don't they hold both examples with the same amount of weight? Maybe someday in the future we will have the knowledge to better prove the existence of God. This is the same reasoning many atheists use when dealing with an unexplained issue concerning evolution or the big bang (both of which I believe in). And I am not a creationist.

They do not have the intelligence to express themselves with out vulgarity. That means low class.
I do not mean to say all Christians are that way. I will tell you that the ones who are decent come far closer to getting me to do it their way than the ones who are imitating their father mouth.
I am especially referring to "warrior of faith" He is working against Jesus. Keep it up. You are the one who is truly imitating Jesus.

Why listen to someone that is making a profit off preaching?

Personally I think it's disgusting to make a money off of Christ's teachings.

I would hope that this Heaven, this "perfect place" which is supposedly normally like that as it's believed to be, I would hope that that can be "optional".

I have a few interests that might have some bad to them and if Heaven can't have any of these, then Heaven sounds like a borefest and Hell obviously isn't any better.

1) Shooting guns(I like the 38 caliper).

2) Playing an instrument(I like the heavy metal rock guitar).

3) Experiencing what it's like to get drunk.

4) Driving an 8-cylinder sports car down an aphault road at 150 mph(I like the 1998 Camaro Z28).

5) I like watching demolition derbies.

6) Instead of just eating fruit from trees(like from the Garden of Eden), I would rather be eating hot fresh stuffed crust pizza from PizzaHut.

7) And of course, I have an interest in the opposite sex(need I say more about this one?)

If I don't have all of these desires anymore after I go there, then I'm not happy about it, I better enjoy this stuff now.

Ask Christ to come into your heart as your personal savior.
Accept Jesus Christ into your heart has your personal savior.
I read the new testament and I am trying to figure out why people say this.
>This is my opinion of the new testament < This is not a proposal you either believe in him and hear him or perish.

This question is mainly directed at American atheists. Here in the UK it is quite easy to be openly atheist as it's far more common, but it seems as though the US is suffering from religious control to a far greater extent.
One of the biggest problems with religion is that it creates a divide: in its worst case, this means children brought up in a religion are labelled as a "Christian", "Muslim", "Jew" etc before they even have the chance to decide for themselves. These unfortunate labels are then used to seperate people along these lines. People have been killed simply for belonging to the "wrong" religion because of this, which I see as a great shame.

Do you feel there is any hope for the future of your country free from religions grip?

The bible says "And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron." — Judges 1:19

So...is god not all powerful? Or is the bible incorrect?

And...what is it about iron that makes it so hard for god? Something about the properties of it? Does this extend to other metals? Fabrics perhaps?

i want to research different religions, not necessarily to change my point of view or adopt a new religion, just learn more about everything that's out there.

are there any of you who, in your own research, found a certain religion, or drastically changed your views?

if so, what were your views and what are they now? what religion do you think makes the most sense and why?

It is a touchy subject. But I think that because of the lack
of communication, especially in the US, is the reason
why we see so much racial tension. I always thought that
the church should be the group that brings the community
together. But often at times, we have done more damage
than good. Sunday the most segregated day, of the week.
So they say. It is ashame, when we can't even serve
God, in the same room. Which says a lot about why we
see all the racial hoop la, in modern times. But back to
my question. We realize that people tend to say well
if Abe Lincoln freed the slaves, Conservatives are for
people of color. Or if the president hires, Blacks and
Hispanics, then he must not be a racist. Even if there are
racist overtones, from the so called Christian Right.
So do Whites see race in a different light, than Blacks ?
Best answer wins.

Most Evangelical pastors and missionaries have a great deal of training in counselling- as they frequently have to interact with people in crisis situations. Are lay pastors (as bishops would be) equipped to recognize and help when people are troubled? At what point do bishops- (who are called by the Bible to shepherd the flock) intervene? If someone misses a week or two at my church the pastor follows up to make sure everything is ok. In the situation in the link below- do you think anybody followed up with this young man to make sure he was ok?

If Bishops don't have counselling training- would the church be open to requiring that their bishops get training in Biblical counselling?

Of course, this situation can occur in any church. I just want to know if Bishops can really have enough time for their flock while working full-time on the outside. http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,69...

I have found many criticizing religious practices and condemning them. It is always their habit to condemn people who follow religion sincerely.

Actually it is their guilt which makes them to do it.

They will ask lots of questions. You try to answer them, they don’t want to listen.

They will ask you lots of proof for the same. If you try to give them, they don’t want to hear.

They will have their own views and assumptions.

It is these people who currupt the world.

How do you deal with these people. Don't tell me that you are one of them ?
