Yes, it's NOT Biblical. Christ enters into our spirit ...not our heart. It's just a culturally accepted and "understood" phrase.
If one wants to teach salvation right, they would tell you, "The Holy Spirit enters your spirit by grace through faith. At that moment, through faith, you have been crucified with Christ, thus the old man is dead, and have been raised with Christ as a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come. [2 Corinthians 5:17]. Meaning our sin nature is dead and we are children of God.
Many people do not understand all that happens at salvation.

everyone has his own opinion, but i do not agree one bit with
"bongernet." Christianity is not a cult.
I am a Christian, so i have "accepted Jesus Crist into my heart as my personal savior." But to tell you the truth, i don't always understand a lot of the termonology that is used either. But what i do know that is meant by Jesus coming into your heart is that you have prayed to Him and asked Him to save you from your sins so that you can be in heaven with him one day instead of the alternative... eternity burning in hell. In order for Him to "come into your heart," you must totally trust and rely on Him to save you; nothing else can get you to heaven- not even good works. You are saved through faith.

The true meaning of this statement has nothing to do with religion, as such.If we see Christ as been the most positive force in our life, by accepting the principles he lived by;we can in turn live full, productive, and christian-like existences. Regretfully some cult-like churches have seized upon the words to promote their own mis-guided principles.Jesus stated that not all would enter Heaven. Only those can enter by the narrow gate. He is stating a very true fact.Only those who practice- sharing, caring, loving and understanding can enter. Happy Christmas!

Salvation means to be 'in Christ' not the other way around. This is just more of the easy believism of the 21st century. Some might even call it the Burger King Religion, basically have it your way!

First you have to accept some other things... God... and the fact that you need Him... then you have to learn who, and what, Jesus The Christ was, and still is. Then... you have to accept it all... then come to accept what Jesus The Christ is to be in your life... Then You have to come to God as He prescribes...
All who come to God as He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation. Those become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Churstian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.
if you have any question about it feel free to email me. One honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability.

Actually you are right. You will not find that verse anywhere in the Bible. It is called evangelical lingo. Like "Jesus loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life." Just ask someone to define what "wonderful" means first.
Actually Jesus says to count the cost before you decide to follow Him. "For a man putting in his to the plough and looking back is not fit for the Kingdom of God". You really need to do this.
Is Jesus worth this "dying to yourself, picking up your cross and following Him daily"? Absolutely!! For in doing this (through repentance and faith) you are done with this sinful dead world and alive forever in the eternal Kingdom of God!!! Amen.
Jesus and his disciples and John the Baptist all preached people to "repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is here". To repent means to turn away from your sins. Forsake them because they lead to eternal damnation. Secondly, trust in Jesus as you would a parachute to save you from Hell when you jump into eternity (physical death).

They say this because you have to confess with your mouth and believe in your HEART that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and rose again and you will be saved. It's part of your public confession. Once you commit to this, you are filled with the Holy Spirit and Jesus' enters your heart/soul. God no longer sees your blemishes and you are cleaned by Jesus so to speak.

If that one single message does not mean anything to someone, perhaps they may better understand it by reading what Jesus said:
17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
By believing Jesus - trusting God- you are promised the Holy Spirit:
John 15
26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning."
And then you are considered 'baptized' by the Spirit. This is the important baptism. God, who is Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit as we may understand it in the scriptures, and therefore Jesus is living in your heart.
That's what they mean, but there are other ways to put it as I have just shown you.

Because Jesus want to be a part of your life. Sin has seperated you from your Heavenly father and only through repentence can he come back. Its your decision to accept His forgiveness or not.
