Because the calendar as we know it today was not yet invented, the Bible is not able to record the day, month or year of his birth. It does give us information on who was ruling various regions at the time. Using that, it appears that his birth was between 6BC and 4 BC. But that is as close as it is possible to come.
The tradition of celebrating the Christ Mass on December 25 in the Catholic church came as an way of offering the early Christians an alternative to celebrating the lustiest Roman holiday on the same date. Much like churches do today where they offer alternative to celebrating Halloween.
Not all Christian church celebrate Christmas on Dec 25. The Orthodox church uses the date of Jan 12th, for example.
Was there a real Jesus? There are dozens of reliable historians from his era who recorded information about him, so he was a real person. As such, he was born at some time. But that date is unknown.
Other people whose birthday is unknown include Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, William Shakespeare, and many many other famous people. Before the 1400s and the invention of the printing press birth certificates did not exist.

No he wasn't born on December 25th. You need to remember why Mary and Joseph were traveling to begin with. Augustus Cesar wanted a head count for taxes. The Romans did this right after the harvest and before the rains. It was probably in Late September or early October. Also we do know the exact day he did die. It was on the first full moon after the spring Equinox. That is why Easter changes every year. We follow the Gregorian calender while the Hebrews did a lunar calender. Hope that helps..

I also heard it wasn't Christmas, it was around Spring time. Apparently, the term 'Christmas' came about because their used to be a mass at this time of year and it was decided to be linked with Christ! or something like that! =)

Probably not born at all. Bible scholars say he born in summer, Roman Saturnalia at mid winter soltice changed to Chrismas by Christians. In Bible, Matthew say Jesus born when Herod king, he die 4BC, so Jesus born 6 or 7 BC, but Luke say jesus born in census of Quirinius, he begin rule of Syria (and Judaea) 6 or 7 AD. Jesus not born both 7BC and 7AD.

I read he was born in March. Few Biblical scholars still claim 12/25 and most are aware that what is now Christimas was originally a Pagan holiday.

It was likely he was born in the summer, based on clues and biblical research. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth, but it's not his actual BIRTHDAY.
And other churches choose to celebrate it on different days, like the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates it in January.

It is commonly believed that Christ was born at another time of the year and we celebrate it on 25th December. If I was guessing.... the lamb brought to see Jesus may give the timing away..Spring time?...probably April
