If astrology could help people why are all the astrologist still writing horoscopes and not living the good life in Florida?

On the other hand, the planets have affected life on our planet -think tides, weather and earthquakes. So how much our individual lives are affected is the real question.

Cheers and good luck!

Nope.

Believing that the gravitational fields of stars and planets so far away affect complex aspects of our lives is as silly as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and all the other religions.

Even if these types of aspects of our lives COULD be determined by gravitational fields, what about the inverse-square law? Wouldn't the gravity of these distant bodies be too weak and attenuated here? Wouldn't the moon and the sun, and only occasionally other planets and asteroids when their orbits brought them nearby, be the only bodies that mattered?

And if it's not gravitation, what is it?

The only part of astrology that COULD (not DOES but COULD) make any scientific sense is the part about when you were born. That would determine what time of year you first became intellectually aware (a few months after birth). What the weather was like at that time MIGHT influence your personality.

But wouldn't THAT mean that what sign you were born under would change meaning depending on whether you were born in the northern or southern hemisphere (seasons are opposite)? And what about weather patterns? San Francisco and Washington DC are both in the northern hemisphere and at similar latitudes, but SF gets snow very seldom (once a decade) and DC gets it every winter.

Naw. It's just an old religion, no more valid than the newer ones.

The stars can tell us alot. But they can't tell us about the future or our past or give us insight into relationships. However, they do tell us that an awesome God exists and He is a very imaginative Creator. Do some research on the Hubble Space Telescope and the pictures that have been taken. How can you NOT believe in God with all this evidence?

In some form I think it can be useful, after all the three kings used it to find baby Jesus.
