We understand Jehovah, the Author of the Bible, has standards. Above all is not being two-faced. In Zeph. 1:4-6 the mixing of true and false worship is not only detestable to Jehovah, but deserving of death! Nobody, not even God, likes wishy-washy people.

Throughout the entire 66 books of the Bible, only 3 birthdays are mentioned. On each occasion, a faithful servant of God was murdered.

Eccles. 7:1 shows a guiding principle, "the day of one's death is better than one's being born." This means what has one accomplished by being born? Sure parents are ecstatic, but the baby has done nothing. On the day of one's death however, one can look back on one's many accomplishments. Surely a better thing.

Overall the Bible takes a dim view of birthdays. There is no record of any faithful servant of God celebrating birthdays though there are many celebrations and parties they did take part in. Laughter and good feelings are valued. The origin of birthday celebrations show they are not one of them.

That is why we do not celebrate birthdays. We desire our worship of Jehovah to remain pleasing to Him.

Celebrating birthdays has pagan roots.

Jehovah's Witnesses seek to please Jehovah in all their ways, and definitely stay away from things that displease him.
