when the bible publishers were putting the bible together some 300 years after Christs death it was documented that they fought for months over which creation story to use. They had 4 choices , two like Adam and Eve and two completly different . after a long battle they finally decided on the one you see now in the bible opening. This is proof positive that the story cant be true , they could have chosen a differnt story and people would be believing somthing different. and thats just 1 example of how the publishers handled the bible

I am uncertain if what you're suggesting is true or not.Frankly, it doesn't matter. The Adam and Eve story is so outrageously moronic that it doesn't take a genius to realize that it has less merit then that we were created by little green men from the planet X...... Then again, maybe it does need a genius to figure that out......

It helps to site reliable sources though.People say all kinds of things here and slap on the view that what they say is fact. But, without reliable sources, they end up sounding even worse then just someone with a bad opinion.

I am sorry to tell you but it is the New Testament that was written after Christ's death. The Old Testament was recorded before Christ was born. The Torah, which includes Genesis was written nearly 500 years before the rest of the Old testament.

Besides even if it is true that they just made up the story of Adam and Eve (which it probably is made up) that doesn't shake the religion, it just means that we have one part wrong. You do not have to recite the Bible to get into heaven you have to accept the messiah ... so it wont even matter the history in the Old Testament.

*** Buddy ... back then writers were publishers, see there were very few literate peoples so those who write the stories were considered the publishers, there also wasn't mass amounts of the books, there were only a few, the stories were passed by word of mouth

A) The Book of Genesis had at least 4 authors. They wrote at different times and their stories were consolidated by the Jewish authorities waaaaay before Christ was even a gleam in Joseph's eye.

B) Mitochondrial DNA is the scientific proof that while at some point in time there was an EVE, Adam was at best her son, NOT her mate.

C) Your ignorance is probably more colossal than your ego, but not by much. I suggest you study Scripture as a scholar, not as a gullible critic.

D) And for the rest of you. Moses did NOT write the Pentateuch! In his day he had better things to do with his time. Stop thinking that C.B.DeMille got it right. He didn't. He, like you, swallowed a baseless fabrication whole.

E) The Fathers of the Church selected the Septuagint version of the Old Testament in its entirety. It took Martin Luther some 1500 years later to decide that they were wrong and to toss out 7 of those books plus parts of 2 others. He was as off base as you are.

F) NOBODY can just read that Book and figure it out. NOBODY! It takes years of hard work and study. It takes knowing the original languages well enough to speak, read and write them. It takes an IQ substantially more than 2 points higher than that of a begonia. The latter seems to be a stumbling block for fundies and atheists alike. Pity.

Did you know that there is absolutely NO proof that Adam and Eve story is NOT true?

Your grasping at straws, giving nonsensical arguments that have no basis in truth, and showing yourself to be a fool!

First, the Bible was not written 300 years after Christ's death. The books of the Bible were written by historians as the events occurred (except for Genesis and the beginning of Exodus, which were written by Moses, who lived prior to Christ's incarnation on earth). It was written over a 2500 year range of time by about 40 different authors.

It's sad how some people can't even collect enough straw to build an actual straw man to tear down, so they just grasp at straws hoping to accomplish something great, but only make a complete fool of themselves instead!

LMAO...and the couch potato "expert" that informed you of this should get a real job and leave historical fact to those of us with working brains...

The book of Genesis was never argued over during the creation of the Bible in Constantinople as far as the creation story goes...what is believed to have been argued over was which one of the existing written versions of it should be used...i.e. which written translation was the most believable...of course it's also believed that many legitimate texts were considered heretical by the religious "experts" who gathered to create the Bible and therefore left out...the Old Testament is not the entire Jewish Torah verbatim either...it's a translated version with some missing components...

The Bible as it stands today IS the compilation of infallible men - who fought and argued.

However, there IS a greater intelligence at work - influencing their decision - so for whatever reasons they had for choosing the books they did - IT DID NOT INTERFERE WITH THE PROCESS OF CREATION.

There are 26 MILES of Library rooms below the Vatican - millions of books confiscated by the 'church.'

The stories in the Bible go back 40,000 years - so those of you who think that Christians think the world began 6,000 years ago are in grave error.

You can read Lost Books of the Bible - for an interesting version of the creation story - BUT whatever story you choose to read, remember, it is an allegory.

Not sure where you heard this story. It would be nice if you cited a source. Moses wrote the book of Genesis and the author was divinely inspired to record all the accounts passed on to him by God. You need a firsthand witness to verify the creation account in order to bear forth, at the very least, testimony. God was there when He made Adam and Eve. He is the only witness.

What absolute nonsense. The story of Adam and Eve is in the Hebrew Bible used by Jews. It was probably written down first during their captivity in Babylon but it was debated in the first century and there are extracts from Genesis in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Do you believe that Constantine told the Jews to write it in the fourth century

You are so full of it. The Torah Old Testament was not put together 300 years after the death of Christ. The Book of Genesis which contains the Adam and Eve portion was written by Moses because God gave it to Him to write. Jesus quoted the Torah, Old Testament, while He walked the earth.

Get your facts correct. You mislead people.

That is one of the best laughts I have had in ages....

Hopefully you realize that the Torah (what the Christians call the Old Testament) was in its final form morethan 500 years before the birth of Jesus. We have still existing copies of it from the Dead Sea Scrolls and elsewhere to prove it.

The Nicean council debated whether to accept the Torah as a whole as scripture, or not, but did not have a single word of debate over the content of the Torah - creation story or anything else. The minutes of those meeting still survive if you would like to read the debate.

Sorry, but you are completely wrong in the "facts" of your posting.
