Such as cultural relativism: "a philosophy that believes that when it comes to matters of right and wrong, and other values of a moral nature, that there are no absolutes, or any fixed truth, but rather that all is relative. “Good” and “bad” are merely assigned and attached to beliefs and actions by the culture in which one lives. Good is simply what is socially approved of in that culture by the majority over time."

So, What constitutes something being considered bad, or even evil, is therefore also culturally relative. This means that no belief or action is inherently good or bad, rather it is either acceptable or taboo within that given culture, and thus we should all learn to be “tolerant”, suspending personal judgment, because the real issue isn’t goodness or badness per se, but simply a matter of difference."

If this is so then why protest or stop people like Adolf Hitler? If what he does is justified as being cultural relativism?does this really make his heinous atrociti right or good?

Do you want to laugh or just hit them. I go back and forth on this, but I have a nasty little Celt temper....

OK... from what I've heard, "faith" is believing in something without proof. Because you have a "feeling" that it's true. So as pretty much as a long as you just really, really, really "feel" something is true, or exists (despite the lack of evidence), that's faith. Wow... what a bunch of bull. How could anybody truly believe that? Don't Muslims say they have the same feelings or Buddhists, etc. What makes you think your feeling is so much different from theirs? Please correct me here, I must be missing something. And no Bible verses please.

This is probably one of the questions that members of the mainsteam Religions seem to be the MOST curious about. I have even had non-pagans actually ask if we have wild orgys at my circles. So, without revealing any Trad secrests or specifics of wording, just sort of describe what a ritual entails and generaly what happens during your ceremonies.

Question for you religious types.

How come I knew of a lady who went to church every Sunday prayed all of the time and was one of the most nice, sweet and giving persons I have ever known. Then she got MS and suffered in great pain for over 10 years until she finally died.

On the other hand I know a guy who is a total azz hole, is very crueal to other people (including me!), cheats his business partners and is what would call an all around "not a nice person." Yet he is in gold health and not suffering at all!

How does god let this kind of thing happen?

I thought god was supposed to heal the pain of a good person and inflict pain on a bad person?

Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Aren't all the people who were there dead now?

I have just started practising magick. I am a little confused as what to call myself, as is my friend who is also a witch, and has been for some years now. We don't feel we need a term or label for what we do, but we find it helps others understand when there is some sort of title. It's nice to have a name for what we practise too, and when people ask what religion we are, it's nice to be able to tell them simply without having to explain everything.

I'd like to hear from witches about what they call themselves, what their religion is, and also would love ANY information, tips, links to sites, anything. I want to learn as much as possible.

I'm also interested in gettng in touch with other witches in Australia or New Zealand.

Thanks for your help!

I have a Christian friend who is so busy taking care of other people who he feels obligated to - extended family and such - to where he has no time for himself. Taking them on errands, buying them things. These are people who have done some bad things to him - he will say so himself - but he feels like he needs to do these things as I guess it is a what would Jesus do type situation for him. Now I understand doing this to a fair amount but it has gotten to an extreme and really they are taking advantage of him and using it to control who he sees and what he does that does not involve them. Are there any verses or parables that I could remind him of where perhaps Jesus spoke of taking care of yourself?

Oh I am not Christian but do respect the teachings of Jesus. My friend is very dear to me and I want just to help him as he is trying to help all these other people.
