Im 13, take religion at church weekly, try to go to church whenever i can. I believe in god and am catholic, was baptized and confirmed catholic, my entire family including extended are all catholic. When I go to church I dont really feel like i'm getting anything out of it, I pray and everything but i don't feel a connection or anything-I believe in god and I pray to him when I need guidance but when I go to church I don't get anything it's like the people drone on and it isn't getting through to me. WHat do you think I should do-I'm christian I know that but I dont know if another denomiation would get to me more but my family probably wouldn't accept the fact that i don't get anything out of catholic i dont know what to do because i dont want church to be a meaningless hour every sunday i want it to mean something, have an influence over me, thanks for any help you can give

I'm amazed to find people in America writing about demonic possession on Y Answers. In the UK we have a few problems with people from Africa having these beliefs, but nothing widespread. Now brain scanning equipment is pinpointing the location of many disorders and medication and talking therapies having so much success in treating them it's unheard of for someone to talk of "possession" in the UK. Is this because Americans only have access to 3rd world standard mental health care facilities?

my christian friends all seem to be so happy because whenever they have a problem they can 'pray' to God and get support. I am atheist in heart, if there is a problem or challenge in life i must rely on myself and others, but no super God, what should i do? if i have a chance i'd rather be a christian but my knowledge of science prevented me from doing so? help please

when ever i walk into my house you instantly feel this heavy wieght put on u!! so iM guessing its a negative energy....
i live with my parents & i think the negative energy comes from the arguing that we do with each other....my moms a skitzofrinic bipolar so my dad is always fighting with her & he gets fustrated because he cant do anything about my mom so he turns around & fights with me.
i ignore all the fighting that goes in my house so it doesnt stress me out but theres still this negative energy...it makes me really tired too like all i want to do when iM home is be lazy & sleep!

A survey of the Scriptures reveals that there is one category that God hates above all others. God hates religion! Many will be confused, if not offended by such a statement, for they have identified God with religion. Religion, therefore, needs to be defined and differentiated from the Christian gospel.

The English word "religion" is etymologically derived from the Latin word religo, meaning to "bind up." Religion binds people up in rules and regulations or in ritualistic patterns of devotion.

Christianity, on the other hand, was never meant to be a religion. Christianity is the dynamic spiritual life of the risen Lord Jesus indwelling the spirit of man so as to create functional behavior to the glory of God. Granted, men have attempted to force Christianity into the molds and forms of religion. That is evident by all the steeples and sanctuaries and ecclesiastical programs that dot the landscape of our society.

For me God is real, others says that God is not real. But they are wrong, because there are events that cannot be controlled by man including death. If there is no god who will know when is the time of your death this is one of the examples that proves that man doesnt know all things.

Like, here and now, on earth. Will I, say, be robbed of oppurtunities or items because I sinned?

And what about in heaven? I've read about "heavenly treasures" and the like, but I'll be glad to just live on a street corner in heaven.

We all know Jesus tells us to believe, repent, and be saved. Do you know what repentance of sins is? It is turning away from your sins. It is NOT just acknowledging that you are a sinner, it is turning away from you sins. In other words, my question is this; have you changed at all since you "repented", or do you still live a normal, sinful, worldly lifestyle, trying to fit in with modern society? Just a thought to leave you with:

Hebrews 10:26-27

"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries."
