I'm amazed to find people in America writing about demonic possession on Y Answers. In the UK we have a few problems with people from Africa having these beliefs, but nothing widespread. Now brain scanning equipment is pinpointing the location of many disorders and medication and talking therapies having so much success in treating them it's unheard of for someone to talk of "possession" in the UK. Is this because Americans only have access to 3rd world standard mental health care facilities?

First off America leads the world in quality health care of all types. The problem there is it's availability because we have no government healthcare.

We have all that equipment & medication. In fact if you look in depth most was created or developed here.

The UK only has 60 1/2 million in pop. The U.S. has almost 5 times that. Over 30 times the square miles. Then you add into that areas that have little to no access to even a clinic w/i an hr's drive & rural poverty you're naturally going to have more problems.

There are many mental illnesses once thought demons now known to be chemical imbalances, etc. and they can be treated if afforded or accessible.

But to say the spiritual doesn't exist is to wipe out science as well. Not everything that isn't understood ever will be. But we continue to search for the love of the quest. There are charlatans, preachers, people, etc. that blame everything on demons. Mediums that are little more than good people readers. But there are many that no rational explanation can be found for their actions or abilities. Yet there are also scientists that admit mathematically speaking the universe as well as many others things in science doesn't add up right, though Math is an exact science. Do you discredit it simply because it's not logical?

There are more wonders in this world than we can ever imagine. Just the simple task of thinking while talking to hold a conversation is logically impossible when you get to the basics of how. Yet we do it. Every question answered brings 10 more with it. But to simply discredit something because you can't see it is foolish. Ever see a photon?

Before you can verify something doesn't exist you have to be able to compare data. Since demons are in the spiritual dimension in which we don't exist or have ever seen there's no data to compare it with.

But we do know for all the good that exists in our world there is an opposite which we call bad or evil. Scientists also suspect there are other dimensions that are unknown. Thus as the scientific argument goes, are we so arrogant we really think we're unique? lol!

on the whole this is using fact on a similar time as human beings have been exploring and settling in very primitive situations something of the progressed international replaced into springing up training, technology, shape, paintings and each and all the better issues!! regrettably united states of america keeps with 40 six MILLION residing under the poverty line with little or no wellbeing care or training!! on a similar time as a small proportion of the inhabitants has modernized and is equivalent to, or maybe exceeded the progressed international this is a tragic reality the the wide-unfold public of united states of america nevertheless lags a techniques at the back of and remains very plenty primitive!! united states of america is the place extremist christianity is predicated with creation and sensible layout etc. which even the christian churches say is a primitive and screwed thinking ingredient!! The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of england and mainstream churches all settle for the massive bang and evolution!! Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury positioned it ok – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist ideas-set to scripture, ignoring scholarship and serious gaining awareness of, and sophisticated different understandings of reality”!!

I'm not American I'm a Brit and have wrote many times on here regarding Demons
Only two days ago I received a best answer
Your question smacks of the "Three Truths" I've wrote about this too more than once
Ridicule Violent Opposition Until it is accepted as Self Evident
Reading Your Question I would suggest it is at the first stage

I wouldn't touch on the mental health issue
It isn't only China and Russia [As it was ] who misused their mental health facilities

Edit

I should also add
How may times have you heard of seriously ill people being sent to America for treatment because this backward looking lot don't even know where to start

May this help

So true, but it mostly has to do with the church beliefs that have spilled out into the modern world. Still, a lot of those medications you mentioned only mask the problems and don't really do much to cure them, plus these medications are petroleum based products, so they can cause more harm than good in the long run! Also, the government is not helping in the medical field, rather they hinder and are now shutting down a lot of the health care facilities. Go figure.

Ummm. have you looked around at the rest of the world? The Celts believed in the same things in Britain and elsewhere. Most old pagan religions did too. So do most cultures in Asia, India, Africa, and Australia.

Chances are, you and your culture fit into one of those.

Your statement about Americans only having access to 3rd world standard mental health facilities is extremely ignorant and doesn't help your cause whatsoever - whatever your cause may be.

You are amazed because you have not seen or experienced demonic possession. I am not because I have seen and witness such possessions and know that they are real. Check your statistics also because "demon possessions" happens all over the world though in some regions, they are more prevalent.

First , In my opinion people from the UK are unbelievers that would not know a demon from a whole in the ground. We are simply more advanced in our spirituality than you , we can accept and the unseen and believe it real because its in the bible and Jesus said it was real. We have the best mental health clinic in the world now days, would you like for me to make you an appointment , they have some good one is in southern new England...laughs.

I just heard on a show about spontaneous combustion that only people in the US AND the UK believe in it. I have heard nothing about it.
How ignorant is it to base a prejudiced assumption on limited information?

Matt 10:5-8---NIV

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons .

Jesus said to drive out demons. He wouldn't have said it if there wern't any.
