What's the worst thing you ever did at catholic school?

I'll go first. I didn't attend one but my cousin did. Her school was having a little fair and my grandma took us to it. We got bored and went into the bathroom to throw spitballs on the ceiling. When the ceiling was full we got the mirrors, then the walls.

I personally don't trust god, the tooth fairy or santa clause. I think it reflects poorly on our nation that we stamp our money (a symbol of our culture) with such childish absurdity. Might as well have a unicorn or dragon on the front of our currency instead of a president. Its absoloutly crazy to still have god written on anything in this day an age. I'll bet it's taken off within the next 20 years. What do you all think?

DES MOINES, Iowa - A federal appeals court ruled Monday that the state of Iowa cannot fund an evangelical Christian prison ministry program because doing so advances or endorses religion, violating the Constitutional separation of church and state.

Prison Fellowship Ministries, which contracts with InnerChange Freedom Initiatives Inc. and other organizations to conduct faith-based programs, must repay about $160,000 to the state for money received between June 2006 and June 2007, said Mark Early, the group's president.

He said the ruling would clarify how faith-based programs could work with government agencies.

"We're pleased because in this opinion there are some clarifying guidelines to help us and other faith-based organizations working in government settings, such as prisons, to be able to fashion a program and make sure they do comply with current understanding of constitutional law in this area."

toward each other on here? I mean I believe in God, but not religion..but that doesn't mean I hate athiests b/c they don't believe in God. I could care less. Believe what you want to believe. Why can't we have intelligent dialogue about things instead of always insulting each other?

How is it that so many people don't know the difference between fiction and reality? I can remember back more than 30 years ago there were wakos trying to get Star Wars banned because they were afraid that people would join "the force" as a new religion. 15 years ago they were calling for a ban on Barney because he had taken on demi-god status. Then there's the whole Harry Potter leads to witchcraft thing. Where do these wacko come from? How come they can't tell the difference between fiction and reality?

Here's what I've got so far:
How is it so far? What can you add?

Atheists do not believe in heaven or hell; God or Satan. Atheism is not a religion. There are no spirits guiding us. We guide ourselves along our own paths and take responsibily for ourselves. We pay whatever consequences may arise and give ourselves credit when credit is due. We do not have flighty answers like 'God did it' for things that happen. We ask why, then research and come to logical conclusions.

I read that Jesus was not born on Christmas which is unusual because it means Christ's birth. I heard that it is on yule, which is a holiday in Wicca and thousands of years before that Druidism. I heard that the Christmas tree and Santa are also from yule. Why isn't Christmas on Jesus's birthday?
(I'm not saying I think we should change it I like Christmas where it is nor am I saying I am a Christian or Wiccan)
