Silent Night !

During World War One as American and Germans fought each other in trenches and under constant artillery bombardment which inflicted very high casualties, the Americans heard, off in the distance, the Germans were singing "Silent Night". After a while the Americans started singing it, too. By some miracle, both sides laid down their arms, the artillery became silent, and they joined together to sing it, as well as making friends and socializing with each other. When Christmas passed the noise of the artillery began again and they were back to killing each other. Afterward, there were many Courts Martial given out for fraternizing with the enemy. This is a true, documented story. It's the story of how powerful a song can be.
