My family is not Catholic, but I truly want to be, because I was raised to be any branch I want.

Funny that catholic and jewish roots be mentioned, since the catholic church has not recognized Israel from the get go. Just more catholic hypocrisy.

+ Jewish Roots +

The Catholic Church officially teaches:

When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, "the first to hear the Word of God.

The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant.

To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ"; "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 839: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#839

+ Joining the Catholic Church +

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

+ With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church regards the Jewish people as God's Chosen Ones, and our older spiritual siblings.

You'll find as you study Catholicism that many of the actions during activities such as the mass are indeed rooted in the Jewish faith.

I encourage you to most definately research the topic. The history of the evolution of the Church and its practices is incredibly fascinating.

Why would you want to become a "Catholic"? The Bible teaches that we can choose and should choose to be followers of Christ.

No church or Church saves. It doesn't matter what your background is. Did you know that the first three thousand christians were Jews that accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Savior?

God is no respecter of persons. Come just as you are to Him and repent of your sin and trust Christ as your Savior and Lord. You'll be glad you did.
