Well it isn't taught in the Bible, so I am assuming it was a reasonable attempt by men to reconcile various beliefs as they sat in council.

I have to say that the Trinity was one of the most highly debated religious issues in history. At the Council of Nicaea, they struggled with this. It was not clearly defined in the Bible, so theologians decided its nature.

So, you decide. I don't believe, so I am going with hogwash. :)

Edit:
Sincerely maguyver, try to pay attention. What the hell are you talking about?

Edit:
Seenotes, the word trinity was never used in the Bible. That was manmade and the conceptualization of the trinity and its nature was manmade. All of this derived from a couple of Bible passages that mention the father, the son, and the holy spirit. I don't think moon is the one with the false "facts."

Reason and the truth. The Bible is clear there is one God. However without a doubt Jesus calls the Father God. Jesus also claims to be God in many places. In addition while you have to hunt a bit harder the Holy Spirit has the attributes of God and is even referred to as God in the book of Acts. So if all three are God and there is only one God there are two possibilities. The trinity is on possibility. The other is that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all the exact same being and not individuals. We can see that is not true since Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father. Jesus prays to the Father. The Father sends the Holy Spirit. We can see they are three individual persons. Therefore we come back to the trinity. 1 God that exists as three persons simultaneously. It is reasoning from what the scripture teaches.

Why so little mention of the Holy Ghost, anyway?
Is it the Crazy Aunt Edna in the attic of Xtianity?
The red-headed step-child?
It's the only part of this Trinity thing that actually makes any sense to me.

The trinity is the concept of the Godhead, three in 1. Although people claim it is untrue because our human minds cannot completely fathom the omniscient God, it makes sense to a certain degree. Let me give you an example of a trinity that all accept as reasonable:
time: past, present and future. Time would not be complete without all three, yet each is time and not only one is time.

The Spiritual Realm is Strange.

A Parallel Universe.

Only Believe!

(you cannot Reason Out the Spiritual Realm with Earthy Reasoning!--Only BELIEVE!)---Jesus Died for YOU!

Why?
Because the Creator of the Universe LOVES You!

GOD don't Play Games.
When HE gives FreeWill---HE Gives FREE WILL.

We Blew It, not HIM.
