Brother God is not a respector of persons. You see a lady who by your description was of no doubt a chrsitian. God knows how much we can bare. You have to really get deep to understand what im saying about the word of God. Sometimes he lets people go through trials to accomplish things. At this time we are to draw closer to him and trust him. Faith that the master is in total control. All things work for the good of those who love the Lord. Never seen the righteous forsaken or begging for bread. She finished her race and is in no dooubt with the Almighty God. Just read the book of Job. Look what he endured and because of his unwaivering faith look at how God blessed him.
The other guy is living a life with no idea of the risk he takes daily. We are not promised tomorrow. Believe me GOD is taking an account of ALL our actions and we will give an account for them if we have not given our life to Christ and repented. The bible says the scales of justice will be balanced. Store your riches in heaven. Pray for your enemies as we are commanded. I know this is difficult but have faith in knowing that when not if you do God will fight your battles for you.

Your understanding of Man and God is inadequate. Man has been given by God a special gift called "Free Will." This gift allows us to choose the kind of life we want to live in. We can live a good life or a bad life. In reality, people who are wealthier can afford to eat, live and enjoy life better than the people who are poor. They get better medical attention, too.
People get sick for many reasons whether we like it or not because that is part of our biological change from being young to getting old, including the harmful elements in the planet that can cause us to get sick or even die.
On the other hand, God is there to watch over us until we fulfill our mission to live in this world. Remember, life is temporary, so it is a good idea that we live a good life in preparation for the afterlife that is eternal!

I had neigbors once that were super religious. Spent every Weds evening at church, had bible readings in the house 2-3 times a week, church again on Sunday, in the afternoon, bible classes, come home to eat and go back for more church Sunday night.
Her Xmas cards were always signed "In Christ...." Then one day she needed a favor from god for her daughter. Her little group prayed for it, the church people prayed for it, as well as some internet group.
The god favor was not granted.
I moved away from there but we still get Xmas cards but the religious theme is gone and they are no longer signed "In Christ". The moral of the story is "don't waste your time with religion"
peace

who says that that lady isn't receiving her reward this very moment? you're judging life in an earthly manner, according to a human perspective. god isn't that way. god judges the heart. you have no idea what that suffering might have done in that woman, how it might have strengthened her faith, how it might have forced to to rely absolutely on god. there's a lot you don't know. god even says that he delights in the suffering of his children. this isn't because he is cruel. god doesn't like it when anyone experiences hardships or pain, but he knows what suffering can do to grow a spirit filled person, and change them. god is after people who seek him, in spite of their circumstances.
this man you speak of has what seems as a good life, i'm sure. but what has he gained? what can he take with him? what will god see in him once he's before him? jesus asked of what value is it that a man might gain the whole world yet lose his soul. it's true for this man. god is not mocked and man's seemingly pleasant times last as only a flash, when compared to what god claims as coming afterwards.
but you would be better served by reading the gospels yourself. it's good that you get peoples' points of view but if you want to know yourself you should just look at what god has to say about the matter by reading the bible. there are many stories. some are quite frightening if thought about and taken as a literal truth. and who isn't to say that this man was given the things he has by god. god gives to all men. to some he gives more than to others. but if god gives to any person than he can be sure that much is expected out of him. each person in accordance to the amounts he has. this man seems to be failing in his tasks. it's right to be upset by it, but don't judge according to what seems right in human terms. god acts in many instances, in the exact opposite to what man sees as right so that the those who would love him do so, and those that would chose otherwise are free to make their choice as well. god knows, and he judges, and he rewards. sadly for those others, he also punishes.

It may seem that the lady was suffering on a superficial level while the other enjoying life. I guess we will never know what is going on within themselves. The lady might be feeling peace despite her suffering as she had been spending time with God. God showered His grace on her. As for the other, he might be feeling lonely or empty deep within when he was alone by himself since he had no God in Him but only himself as his act was self centered.
Sometime, suffering will allow a person to shine. At least, for you, the lady has a positive impact on you as you see her strong faith in God despite her suffering. People might learn from her and have hope in life when facing problems. God took her home as God loved her so much that He wanted to end her suffering and it might be time for her to enjoy eternal not bound by the pain and boundary of the body. :)

Most of the situations we go through in life are either the result of deeds from our past. From the example that you give; these two people either have a debt from a past life or they got these results from their behavior or way of thinking.. Remember we make our thoughts reality, it doesn't matter if they are good or bad. Since we are co-creators with God and have a free will we design our own life experiences consciously or unconsciously. Our present behavior will have its reaping latter in life or in our next. This is very deep.

Nope, it doesn't work that way. When you are a Christian, you are promised glorious eternal life w/Jesus Christ. You are not promised good things here on earth. The whole point of salvation is that God saved us from a deadly, hateful world. MS and other diseases fall in that category.
Your jerk friend may think he is skating home free, but he will suffer the consequences of his sin. He may suffer here eventually, but he will definitely suffer in the afterlife if he doesn't put his trust in Christ.
Remember, this life is very quick, a blink of an eye. Yes, your Christian friend suffered terribly for 10 years but she is now rejoicing and is free of any pain. She will get to taste the victory of that for eternity.

Oh puhleez. Is this the best you can do? Clearly, god was teaching the old lady and her family an important lesson about perseverance, and the azz hole will be hangin with Satan when he dies. You just have to have faaaaith that there is a good reason for this apparent insanity.

First, the Creator does Not inflict pain on Anyone.

He is Not responsible for the pain & suffering in the world.
http://watchtower.org/e/200611/article_02.htm
Eternal torment in hellfire is a *pagan myth*,
Not found Anywhere in the Bible.
http://watchtower.org/e/20020715/article_02.htm
The lake of fire in the Bible is the second death--complete lack of life--total annihilation without hope of reactivation or resurrection. This is obvious in part because Adamic death & the common grave of mankind are thrown into it.
http://watchtower.org/bible/re/chapter_020.htm?bk=re;chp=20;vs=14;citation#bk14
The Bible describes death in several places, &
it Never indicates any life after death, in Any realm...
http://watchtower.org/e/20010715/article_01.htm
When Adam knowingly brought death to himself & his offspring (us), God immediately prophesied about how he would take care of the situation, saying:
"I shall put enmity between you [Satan/Resister] and the woman [God's heavenly organisation] and between your seed and her seed. He [the seed of God's organisation--Christ] will bruise you in the head [a fatal blow] and you will bruise him in the heel [Christ was resurrected to eternal life, hardly a fatal blow!].” --Genesis 3:15
http://watchtower.org/bible/ge/chapter_003.htm?bk=ge;chp=3;vs=15;citation#bk15
God's plan IS to heal the sick, provide homes for the homeless, resurrect the dead, etc... & give everyone the chance to choose to live a happy, healthy, faithful life, forever--on an earth restored to paradise conditions.
http://watchtower.org/e/20031115/article_01.htm
The god who does enjoy inflicting pain is God's adversary/ies... Since he can't touch God himself, he takes out their anger & hatred for God, on us. This gives us the opportunity to individually show that Satan is a liar (he claimed that mankind is disloyal, & that none would serve God out of love, if experiencing severe difficulties), that there are even sinful humans who Want to serve God...
This time allowance also lets Satan & his followers to show what their true colors really are, and, how incapable they are as rulers.

god made everything, but its not his choice to decide what its going to be like. there is just a absence of light or god within that man and he may find it. god shouldnt punish the ones who still have a chance. give time, he'll have his share of un-good stuff. the women went to heaven. but id watch it if i were you becuase you should worry about your life and making it worth every bit since god gave so much for you. dont question gods ways, for only he knows. it all turns good in the end. all a set plan.
