1st im going to say please non JW's dont make any rude unknowledgable comments. ok so this happened almost 4 years ago and til this day it still bugs me. I was 17 and dating a non JW and we realized we loved each other and wanted to get married. he knew of my religion and respected my beliefs about sex before marriage and what not. anyways i told my parent about him and my dad was the P.O at the time (presiding overseer i think that's what it stands for sorry i go to a spanish hall and dont know what a lot of the names are in English) anyways he told me to go to the elders and tell them i was going to marry a non JW (i also wasnt baptized yet) anyways they censored me (not disfellowship, i was a publisher at the time and they just took the privilage away censored i think is what its called) anyways a special commity of elders had to be formed since all the elders at the hall where my dad, and 3 of my uncles. all the elders in the commity didnt like my dad and other elders said

The reason I ask this is because I believe that; if God is real and "created all good things", he/she must've created humor. Therefore, he/she must have a sense of humor right?

So, why is it that joking about him is blasphemy if it's just a joke? What if you don't mean it? Can't he/she take a joke? People joke around with me and I don't get mad. In fact, sometimes it's hilarious. Does he/she have a different sense of humor than I? Does that mean God is not diversified? This cannot be so.

There is error here somewhere. Can someone tell me where? I used to have strong faith but now I'm not so sure. There are certain contradictions like this that should be addressed. I did not intend to offend anyone by this. I am sorry if I have.

I wish we can exchange questions and answers without attacking the proponents of the claim. Let as just dwell on the topic and not stereotype and generalize people. Shall we?

I used to be Christian, but Cliche answers and unheard voices steered me away. I pray now sometimes "If you are there please just show me so I can have a LITTLE bit of hope" and I get no response. If god is real I want to know him again like I though I did before all the Confusion came in. It hurts me because it used to be a big deal to me. Now it seems to be nothing. Somehow I keep thinking about it though. If it didn't really matter I wouldn't be thinking about it right? Maybe I am in gods anger if he exists I dont know. I need some clarity, someone? And please no condemning answers...

First of all, similar to the books of Moses, the book of Joshua is written in the third person. It would have been absurd and vain-glorious for Joshua to speak of himself when writing - ch7:27: "....and his fame was noised throughout all the Country"
In the final Chapter ofthe book, verse 31, Joshua is spoken ofin the past tense; 24:31; "And Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders, that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord, that he had done for Israel."
But the most perpleing evidence against the validity of the book of Joshua, is the fantastic tale of the Sun standing still upon Mount Gibeon. Ch 10:13; " And the Sun stood still, and the Moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies, Is this not written in the book of Jasher? So the Sun stood still in the midst of Heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day". This tale, fable, could not have happened without the whole world knowing!

I was born Roman Catholic. I was baptised, has communion and then confirmation (about three years ago when I was around twelve).

And now I don't belong to any religion. However, I did survey today on a website about the different religions, and apparently I agree most with the Neo-pagan, New Age, Buddhist and Unitarian Universalism morals, ethics and views.

Guess what was last on my list and my least compatible religion?

Roman Catholic.

So what are you experiences? Are you still the religion you were born, or have you changed? Or have you tried several different religions before you found the one you're in currently?

Thanks for answering.

If there is a God and he is all important to happiness, then should we really need to look for more information through science? Shouldn't we just be content with what we have and look into our hearts to get closer to God? Didn't God give us everything we need? Is creation necessary?

The more I think about this the more I feel a meditating Buddhist monk ,trying to free himself from worldly desires, is closer to God. Why desire if you truly believe?

Humanists means agnostics and athiests. Really, why cant't we all get along?

I hear on these boards both hating each other, but that not what either of us are TRULY about.

Its about respect.

And I' m talking about AMERICANS and those of similar free countries on here.

We both at heart strive for the same goals.

Why do we let the political forces that rip us apart for their own selfish greedy gain?

Are we really as a whole so stupid to be blind to it?

While we will never agree on most, can we not agree to band together as people united for the best for THE WHOLE.

How about we set it all aside for a moment, and regain our F***ING composure and unity.

- NOTHING WE DO MATTERS IF WE ARE NO LONGER RELEVANT.

(courtney love sydrome)

Lets get together on the real issues, leave to pope behind. Its all about us.

BTW: it isn't "God bless America", it is America that has allowed you to bless your god, and most of them were agnostics (Unitarian Universalist)

.

Let us look at Psalm 23
Ps 23:1-6 The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want..... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Q1) .The LORD is Jehovah - any dispute? Y / N
Q2) .Who is this Person whom David is speaking about? Father , Son or Holy Spirit??

So......why is the Jehovah Witnesses having so much trouble to see that, indeed that the Lord Jesus Christ is Jehovah?

According to both Matthew and Luke, Jesus was born of a virgin. This claim makes it impossible, however, for Christians to insist that Jesus was king of the Jews. This is because tribal lineage is traced only through a person’s father. This is clearly stated in Numbers 1:18. According to Christian teachings, Jesus had only a human Jewish mother, not a human Jewish father. This human Jewish father would be essential for anyone to be a legitimate heir to the throne of David, which the real messiah will be.

Jews claim to be waiting for a Messiah King; however, they are not prepared for one....the government is not a theocracy, nor is it a monarchy....if some individual came along, he would have to turn over the entire political system to be a king!
Further, they expect this individual to rebuild the the temple, and yet have no land clearance provisions or construction plans or capital improvement fund in place regarding this....
the Bible says "prepare ye the way of the Lord." This does not sound like preparation for what they claim to be expecting.

I don't believe in hell and heaven. Since all human beings are genetically with goods and bads, it is absolutely man made one. Even the goods and bads are formed due to genetical, environmental and situational. Therefore it is difficult to blame the individual.
