Carl, obviously you no nothing about marriage. After 37 years of marriage to the same woman, I can honestly say that behind my eyelids she is the same 19 year old girl I met at a college party. Physically, we both have changed, but to me her beauty has increased.
Unfortunately you will never get to experience the joy of a good marriage.

I would say it's a relationship balancing out it's inequalities. She probably started out with a higher status then you, and instead of increasing your own worth, she decreased her worth so that you both are now approximately equal.
