A man as we know can reason, make abstract conclusions, distinguish between right and wrong, understand, reflect, plan for the future, make judgements, remember which are falculties independent of matter ?We have free will(to act or not to act), animals act only on instinct and sense[s] which are organs of the body.If a horse has not eaten for one day,and you put hay in front of him,he will eat because his instinct moves him to do so. But a hungry man may fast for days and still refuse to eat.
A man can say no to himself.
Man's free will(to act or not to act) and animal instinct.

Is there a law or theory regarding the change of man's animal instinct to man's free will (the ability to tell himself no, when instinct induces him to give way).Just for research sake.

Thank you.

I apologize for over elaborate details,so to straighten out any ambiguities.

for those who believe that your religion is true above all others, why?
no matter what you say your book has inside it, it is false or half truths. man wrote it, not god. so besides having a book in whatever religion that you have, what makes it the true religion?

If science, as proposed by the 'theory' of evolution and 'big bang' that the earth is between 4 to 5 billions years old...............

and supposing that I believe that the earth is really 4 billions years old precisely, how is it that it is so poor in precision.... where did the 5 billions years come from??

That is 25% error!! Is that your precision?? Or just add another zero when somebody else liked it?!?

Psst...thought i have a change, like my avatar? Should listen to my..... a s s!

What do you feel you personally owe Him/Her? Devotion, love, adoration, respect, or acceptance. Please feel free to elaborate. Thumbs up for all honest answers. No judgment just curiosity,. I see Him as a Father, to Whom I owe my entire life and all my love, respect, and adoration.(Only question for now as I am off to bed. Worked last night.)
Peace Be With You,

Muslims think that if they kill people by taking their own life with them, they will earn a higher position in what they call the "afterlife". But that is dumb. After all christains (the most peaceful and the true religion) die, they go to heaven. But the answer (I'll repeat it again) is that Muslim's also believe that if they kill a christain, they will be promoted to a higher position in the "afterlife".

Tony Blair has admitted that Christianity played a big part in his decisions in government.
He appionted Ruth Kelly to the position of Education minister, and she is a member of Opus Dei.
Led the country into two wars in Afghanistan & Iraq.
This country is totally secular in government.
How can religion and government possibly co-exist in the 21st centuary?

why do you believe in god and the bible, i'm not trying to be rude, but the questions ive read are not really facts, so don't say prove he don't, because that is not a fact, don't just dismiss atheists and other religions, its time to get your point across with facts, if you can give people actual facts, people may think twice.
i will award ten points for people who can explain why they believe and factual reasons why.

Can't you seek your own path? Why use a facilitator in the form of a church or pastor or whomever when you can communicate to God directly if you believe there is one? Each of the many religions was made by man, so why not cut out the middleman (pun intended) and go straight to the boss?

If there were only the family of Adam and Eve existing at that time who did Cain marry? As a child I was told he must have taken a sibling with him and that since there were no more people on earth, it wasn't a sin to marry his sister. What do you think? Oh I know some is going to say this is like Asopes Fabels, and that the whole bible is nothing but fairy tales or fiction at best, I am not addressing those folks, I am asking this question of Christians that honestly believe the bible as a true holy work inspired by God!

I have head many Christians say this. To me it seems completely unogical. A force or some sort of body, that is everywhere, made the Universe and wait cares about are little blue speck of a planet enough to send his son who is also him to Earth. Other God's may have slight variations but they still seem unlogical.

Many have written about these wonderful feelings of freedom. What they describe seems very similar to the feelings we have when we first get away from the authority of our parents.
