What language does God speak when talking to you? Does he talk loud? Does he have an accent? Does he talk to you not by words, but by thought? How do you know those aren't your thoughts?

I am curious as to how people pray 5 or 7 times a day. How much time do they spend on each prayer and what do you pray about?

Thanks a bunch!

Well, my g/f is Roman Catholic and I'm of Orthodox descent (Russian). I'm curious as to conflicts in marriage? She claims that it could not happen if I remain Orthodox, which I feel is absolutely wrong for any Christian faith to hold against. I love her for who she is, and I've tried to discuss with her that if we ever do decide to get married all I'm looking for is for her to take an interest in my religion and I will take an interest in hers. I've done alot of research and it seems that Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic religions are fairly similar. We both come from religious families, and my dad is orthodox and mom catholic. Also, I'm not certain but I believe my church is Eastern Orthodox Catholic as it's put? What does this mean? I goto church with my g/f often, and I really enjoy her faith. All I want is for her to see that our religions aren't way different, and I guess I haven't asked her to come to my church but do you think its my duty to invite her to church or no?

do you suppose the same kind of people who feared people like galileo and capurnicus because they proved the earth was not the center of the universe, and thus negated what the bible taught, are the same kind of people today who fear the teachings of people like charles darwin? to answer that question honestly, ask yourself this. do you feel that proof, i.e. sufficient lack of evidence or sufficient evidence that proves otherwise that there isn't a god, would eventually lead to a decline, if not a destruction in morality?

and truly wishes us to enter Heaven instead of burning in the fires of Hell for all eternity, then why doesn't he simply make his existence and the nature of our existence clear to us instead of giving his message in 2000 year old books that must be taken on "faith"? Would he rather hide and let people burn than clarify a few things?

God gave circumcition to man for a reason, for the Jews anyway. To pick out a mans penis and use it as a dedication toward God.....why? Why cut off something that he created?

In my eyes, it is because he hates mans ways of having sex. And he shamed them, by cutting their tips. Why would he hurt you in that area? You go your own way in sex. Not finding Gods way, and he calls sex evil this way, by shaming there penis. Genesis 6:2 says they all pick there own wife's. The only reason I say this is because of

Jeremiah 4:4. Circumcise yourselfs to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah, and the inhabitants of jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

he compair's cirumsition to this other form of circumsition, instead of the penis now, he says circumsize your heart, for your heart is evil.

is there any other example of circumcition ? and do you think I am correct? why not?

Why was Daniel and his 3 companions the only ones mentioned? Were they the only ones who were faithful to God? In the first part ; no one else asked for just vegetables so they wouldn't violate God's laws on not eating certain meats? If their was only 4 people no wonder God had them destroyed. Am I wrong?

Since the holidays are coming up, I thought I would make a topic regarding Jehovah's Witnesses and holidays. Why don't we celebrate holidays? Why do you think we don't celebrate holidays?

Well, here are some of the reasons why we don't, but I'd also like to get your responses to the previous questions.

Christmas. The New Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges: “The date of Christ’s birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month . . . According to the hypothesis suggested by H. Usener . . . and accepted by most scholars today, the birth of Christ was assigned the date of the winter solstice (December 25 in the Julian calendar, January 6 in the Egyptian), because on this day, as the sun began its return to northern skies, the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the dies natalis Solis Invicti (birthday of the invincible sun). On Dec. 25, 274, Aurelian had proclaimed the sun-god principal patron of the empire and dedicated a temple to him in the Campus Martius. Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong at Rome.”—(1967), Vol. III, p. 656.

Birthdays. Among heathens, according to Horst Fuhrmann, professor of medieval history at the University of Regensburg, “the birthday celebration was in honor of one’s guardian angel or god, whose altar was decorated with flowers and wreaths; sacrifices were offered to the god of festival, friends offered congratulations and brought gifts.” Professor Fuhrmann continues in the German newspaper Süddeutschen Zeitung: “Great prominence was given the birthday parties held for the emperor, replete with parades, public banquets, circus plays, and the hunting of animals: spectacles disgusting to the Christians.” Thus, says Fuhrmann, Christians “refused to celebrate the birthday.”

Easter. “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament,” states The Encyclopædia Britannica. How did Easter get started? It is rooted in pagan worship. While this holiday is supposed to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection, the customs associated with the Easter season are not Christian. For instance, concerning the popular “Easter bunny,” The Catholic Encyclopedia says: “The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.”
New Year’s Celebrations. The date and customs associated with New Year’s celebrations vary from one country to another. Regarding the origin of this celebration, The World Book Encyclopedia states: “The Roman ruler Julius Caesar established January 1 as New Year’s Day in 46 B.C. The Romans dedicated this day to Janus, the god of gates, doors, and beginnings. The month of January was named after Janus, who had two faces—one looking forward and the other looking backward.” So New Year’s celebrations are founded on pagan traditions.
Halloween. The Encyclopedia Americana says: “Elements of the customs connected with Halloween can be traced to a Druid [ancient Celtic priesthood] ceremony in pre-Christian times. The Celts had festivals for two major gods—a sun god and a god of the dead . . . , whose festival was held on November 1, the beginning of the Celtic New Year. The festival of the dead was gradually incorporated into Christian ritual.”

Other Holidays. It is not possible to discuss all the observances held throughout the world. However, holidays that exalt humans or human organizations are not acceptable to Jehovah. (Jeremiah 17:5-7; Acts 10:25, 26) Keep in mind, too, that the origin of religious celebrations has a bearing on whether they please God or not. (Isaiah 52:11; Revelation 18:4) The Bible principles mentioned in Chapter 16 of this book will help you to determine how God views participation in holidays of a secular nature.

Are right-wingers really getting so whacko that they would worship that fool over believing in the Bible?

I'm not a Christian, so I'm not really familiar with the community, but doesn't that seem a little "INSANE"?

Also, have you ever seen that movie "Jesus Camp" where all those little kids are speaking in tongues in front of a cardboard cutout of George Bush?

What do you think of those folks?

I'm 15 and I was raised as a Christian and I currently belong to a ministry, but deep down I am not entirely sure whether or not I believe in God. I find myself praying etc., but then I wonder if I'm just doing it in case there is a God. I can't tell what I think anymore. I considered becoming atheist, but it scared me to think "There might be a God and if I'm atheist I'm going straight to Hell." How do I cope with these mixed emotions and thoughts?
