why do you believe in god and the bible, i'm not trying to be rude, but the questions ive read are not really facts, so don't say prove he don't, because that is not a fact, don't just dismiss atheists and other religions, its time to get your point across with facts, if you can give people actual facts, people may think twice.
i will award ten points for people who can explain why they believe and factual reasons why.

I am sorry that you have had to go through such hardship, but if you can go through all that crap and still come out the otherside with the chance to create in yourself faith in God, then you will have a stronger soul than me. You want proof that God exists? Well God wants proof that you have faith in his existence, only then will you know God. When you see other human beings, how do you know that they all have a mind? I can't pull out my mind and show you, does that mean that my mind does not exist? Or is it faith that lets you know that each person has a mind? Is it a fact that every person (and animal?) has a mind? How can we prove that to you? It is not something that can be told to you or shown. DON'T ASK THIS QUESTION TO OTHER PEOPLE, FIND IT WITHIN YOURSELF. If you don't want to read the bible, read "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz (Amber-Allen Publishing). That will give you more insight into the inner-nature of human beings. If you wish to find God you must actively search, both inward and outward, stop waiting on someone else to give you the answers. FINDING GOD IS ONE EXAM WHICH YOU CANNOT CHEAT AT.

You are looking for a factual answer to a question that is not and has never been in a factual context. Christianity is based on some facts (phenomenon), but mostly it answers things of a noumenal (unseen) nature. To ignore things of an unseen nature is to ignore humanity itself. Everything that makes being a human worthwhile is unseen. Love, beauty, music, joy, hope, pleasure, etc.. The main thing, love, includes a whole list of variations, none of which are things you can quantify. You may insist it is fact, but none of these can be proven beyond your own feelings or intellectual sensibilities. The faith that animates a Christian person is unseen yet incredibly powerful. We Christians do not need what you call facts. Any philosophy or worldview consisting only of facts is doomed to be cold and uncaring. Ultimately you will not be satisfied with what you get. Hope this helps.

To begin I am not the most religious person but I think I will try to answer this one to the best of my abilities. The reason I believe in God is all based on faith. I cant see or feel the oxygen I breath, but I know its there keeping me alive. Everyday I wake up to beautiful country sceanery and I know that something more powerful than me designed it. I go to work and see wounds heal themselves over time. Small needles start to heal as soon as they are removed. I've seen babies born, and just as fast they are taken away. God works in mysterious ways. Praising God is not enough. Until you surrender yourself to him you will continue to lack in true faith. While growing up the Bible was extreamly important to a majority of families and fallowing the good words inside came easier because everyone tried to. Look at todays society where God comes second to wealth. Parents dont teach values from the bible now days. When I grew up you never heard of kids killing each other in school. Pregnancies were not the latest trend. Gangs were thought up as not really cool. If anything this great country was based on the religious faith of the people. Look at the money in your pocket. Somewhere on the dollar it will say, "In God we trust". Lastly look up the work faith in the dictionary.

How do you explain the healing of a child, Or being completely broke and receiving $12,000 through the mail when all of your utilities have been cut off because you were spending time in the hospital with your child who was deathly ill. That child coming out of surgery and saying mommy my dead uncle was standing there holding my hand today and he brought a men with him named Jesus. Keep in mind that child had never heard a word about the Bible, Jesus, or God!
(Some may see my daughters illness' as a mistake on God's part, but Christians can testify that he will test our Faith!)
Your going to believe what you want but you know I've been shown, and I THANK GOD daily for all he has done for me and my family!! Go ahead give me all the thumbs down you want but when it comes to judgement day you can't say I've never heard a thing about you!!

You say you want physical proof. There are many things in this world that we take as existing.
Some of us accept the theory of evolution as fact, but show me the complete line of evolution. (if you want proof) It does not exist.
Show me the creation of the universe.
Show me the air you breathe.
We have no hard physical evidence of any of these things, but they are accepted by that thing called faith.
Christians choose to place their faith in God. The wonder of that decision is the things and changes that occur after that decision is made.
Accepting God is a leap of faith. Very similar to the jump off a pool side into the arms of your waiting parent. You have faith they will catch you. Trusting in Jesus requires the same mind set.
When the spirit is touched by God, you KNOW the difference. Words, facts and evidence won't change your mind. You have to take that leap.

Christians dont always dismiss other religions.
We believe that its all the same god and that geographical and politcial influences have made an impact upon different religions.
We know that Jesus lived and the story of his life as a mortal because it is documented.
Some religions we do dismiss because we believe god gave us the ability to reason and therefore can judge right from wrong and practise moral values.we believe some
religions are not righteous and therefore not christian.
Finally, you are correct ,the existance of our god cannot be proved by us as mortals.
We base our religion upon faith, that we do not need miracles or tangible proof to accept Jesus christ. We need only to accept his teachings to feel that we belong.
Of course you could argue,"how convenient that your religion is based upon faith as opposed to proof."that of course is a valid argument, but only for someone hoping to disprove.
We are content without further proof. Our religion is based upon a solid set of principles that ask us to be righteous and virtuous. As humans we consider them to be noble principles. Therefore ,out of all the relgions practised we find christianity the most acceptable.
We try not to force our beleifs upon you even though we believe it would be good for you to accept jesus. It is a personal matter. You either faith or you dont.
thanks

Your right, It is not something we can prove but what can we in this world? LOL! We just believe. It is called faith. It's like Santa Claus. You don't believe because of what is there. We believe because we know there has to be something bigger, better, greater somewhere. It is really amazing when you have God in your life. Some people just think it is just a bunch of cult crap with phys co religious people but it isn't. God can work wonders if you let him.

It sounds to me like you just want an excuse to not believe in God. What do you want me to do, have Him meet you and me at Starbucks? If you went to church as a child, you know how faith works. Faith is the belief in things unseen. I've experienced God and His blessings, but no, I can't prove it to you. And I don't need to, because it makes no difference to me if you believe me or not. Anything I say, you will say it's not factual or provable. So I say to you, believe what you want. God gives you the right to believe in Him or not. You make the choice, but I cannot bring Jesus to you or take photos of Him or have Him call you or text you. As a Christian, I've made my choice. Now you make yours and whatever the consequences are, they are on you. Just don't blame God when you are the one doubting Him.

To believe means simply to "hold as true". It does not mean that it is proved true. We hold things to be true all the time. We hold beliefs in order to do something. I want to know how to dress so I have to hold some belief about the weather, for example.
I have in my nature a longing to know my Creator even though I don't know whether He exists. If I want to find my Creator, I have to first "hold as true"/believe that He exists. Other people reject God and "hold as true" that He doesn't exist so that they can escape from His authority and judgment.
As long as it is not proven that my Creator doesn't exist, my belief is a rational one.
