If there were only the family of Adam and Eve existing at that time who did Cain marry? As a child I was told he must have taken a sibling with him and that since there were no more people on earth, it wasn't a sin to marry his sister. What do you think? Oh I know some is going to say this is like Asopes Fabels, and that the whole bible is nothing but fairy tales or fiction at best, I am not addressing those folks, I am asking this question of Christians that honestly believe the bible as a true holy work inspired by God!

Very simple, he married one of the Other People who were not created by the God of the bible. After all, the bible tells us that God of the bible ONLY created Adam and Eve, therefore it's obvious that all of the Other People living in the land of Nod had to have been created by someone else.

Lone`s answer has merit, but here are some links below that will open up a whole new idea of how we came to be. I kept being told that all the answers are in the bible, but there not.
There was a lot of guess work on what to put in the Bible and what to leave out.
If you look up how the Bible was put together it will back up what I stated here. I added a link about blood groups because Scientists still have no answer on where O- negative universal blood comes from. My view on all this is you can`t obtain spiritual growth without all the facts and the Book of Genesis is incomplete.

Cain did marry his sister because there were no other people @ that time. Just Adam and his immediate family. So, Adam's son's had to have all married sisters.

Cain fell asleep in the Land of Nod and God Ripped out a rib and gave him a wife. This also explains why some people have a fondness for McRib Sandwiches.

well, we do know that it was not his sister, because he was ban before any girls were born to Eve. there were many more people around, that was the reason that Cain (the blacksmith) had a mark put on his forehead so that others would know not to harm him.

If this story was written to convince people of the beginning of the human race there would be more emphasis on those type of descriptions you are looking for.
This story is written to show the relationship between God and man.
If you look at any creation story of any culture, they aren't written like journals. They all tend to have turning point moments to explain certain things that eventually explain the traditions and rituals.
These stories were told (oral tradition) not written down.

Adam lived 930 years and likely had hundreds of children. Of course they intermarried. That was the only way at that time. The Bible does not state who Cain married so it is not relevant to know.

At the time Cain took a sister for a wife, a relationship of that nature, was not considered incest.
Later on, probably when it would cause health problems for the offspring due to continuing growing imperfection in the human family, God outlawed it for the Jews.
