If Jesus and Adam were both created in God's image and contained God's DNA than why didn't Adam and the rest of humanity after Adam have all the powers of God while on Earth as Jesus did? Raise the dead, cure disease, etc. What made Jesus so different?

Is it true that the Texas Constitution allows discrimination against atheists? I heard that you had to admit to believing in a 'supreme being' to hold public office in Texas. If so, how is that legal when federal law doesn't allow discrimination?

I've been Catholic for the past 10 years but after visiting a local protestant church I've felt welcomed and the presence of God. I love the church but have only one problem, communion. I miss taking the eucharist every Sunday and feel funny about it. I haven't joined the church yet but the Catholic churches up where I live are cold and unfriendly. I need to feel a part of a church but in the same vein I miss the communion. Has anyone had this experience? What did you do? Is it okay to miss communion? I feel undecided just on that idea. The church teaches the bible and really ministers to my heart. Give me your experiences without judgement and legalise. Thank you.

There is this lady who works at my mother's apartment complex. She is part of the maintenace staff. She is very sweet and and is extremely helpful to my mom. She's very friendly, and we talk regularly. As someone who celebrares Christmas, every year I bake goodies, or wrap little Christmas candles to give to casual acquaintences, such as neighbors, the postman, etc. This year I had planned to give a gift like this to each of my mom's maintenance staff. However, yesterday, in casual conversation I found out that this one woman is Jehovah's Witness. That's OK with me as I have NO bias whatsoever. However, my question is: Is it appropriate or in-appropriate to go ahead and give her this little rememberance? If it's not appropriate, should I scrap the idea of giving them to any of the maintenance staff? I would hate to give everybody something but her. But I don't want to commit a mistake and give her something if it's inappropriate. Please HELP me! What should I do????

What gets me is when people don't think God exists. I feel sorry for them because when Judgement day comes God will know what they did thier whole life. Please give your opinoin on this and give a REAL opinoin. Not a smart comment because that just adds on to your name on Judgement day.

If God guides genetic adaptation, how exactly does he do it? Did he set up the conditions for evolution to occur very early on and then let it "run" without interfering?
Or does he occasionally stick his finger in the gene pool and cause something to happen that otherwise wouldn't?

If God does not interfere in evolutionary (adaptive) processes and lets adaptations and natural selection occur without interference, then how is this different than Deism?

If God does interfere in evolutionary (adaptive) processes, then how can genetic experiments be trusted to remain free of God's meddling to yeild accurate results?

Someone answered with this statement (this is just part of the answer) in regards to another question and it got me thinking because I have had this question many times.

"Christians really do have NO idea(she was talking about how persecuted atheists are I think here) Or any original ones."

Why does anyone think their ideas are original? Why does anyone think their ideas and beliefs, or lack of beliefs, arent influenced by others around them?

Everything we learn has been taught and figured out by someone else before us. We have all been influenced by other peoples ideas and philosophies. Is there really any original thoughts anymore? Hasnt someone else thought of it before?

I believe a person can be open minded and a free thinker, in terms of deciding for themselves, but that doesnt mean that their ideas are original and it doesnt mean that if someone comes to a different conclusion that the other person isnt a free thinker or open minded.

One of the recent wildfires in Southern California was named the Witch Fire.

Had it been named the Christian Fire, would Christians have objected?

There it is, a drip of it, on your chin. You must've gotten it there while you were evangelizing. There you go.

While you're at, why don't you explain to me why it is so important for salvation to be exclusive to your religion?

May Athena grant you the wisdom to answer intelligently. May Balthazar give you the strength to not be offended. May Pelor shine upon your answers.

My cousin is getting baptised tomorrow, and this sounds really mean, but my friend who just flew in from out of town is here, and she wants to hang out. I was just wondering how long a baptism for a baby usually is?

I see so much on here about scientists and Christians. So let me tell you about me and ask a question.

I have a bachelors and masters degree in biology. I am over half done with a PhD in the same. My degrees are from a secular state university. Let me ask you this. Why does the fact that I accept the supernatural make me a bad scientist? It doesn't affect me in the least in my research. Do you know what type of research I do? I work in a molecular evolution lab. Some of my research has been published in the Journal of Molecular Biology and Evolution. I am a scientist. I can do all of my research and not have a bit of problem with it. The difference is when I look at DNA and the complexities of the cell I see God's handiwork rather than billions of years of evolution. I see an ability to adapt coded into our genome that is absolutely amazing. But I attribute this ability to God. What is so wrong with that?
