...Why are they sold in toy stores?

I've heard some really, really creepy things about Ouija boards: How they "open you up to demons", how they're potentially dangerous, how you should NEVER touch one.

And yet, in an age when products are immediately recalled if they're found to be dangerous or harmful to a child, Ouija boards are still sold. You can get them at Toys 'R' Us and KB Toys, and they've been widely available for years.

If this product is so incredibly dangerous, why can I walk into a toy store and get one for $14.99?

Particularly Adam and Eve. Why is it called 'the tree of knowledge'? Knowledge is a great thing

Also, sex has many benefits and some cultures or philosophical branches see it as spiritual bonding. I mean sex has great effects on your immune system, hormone activity, weight, etc.
Why is it viewed negatively?

Why do we read the bible? I understand it is what God has said over the years, but we really don't know that. thew bible was completely written by man, not one word was by God. yes, they may have been influenced, but how do you know they didn't just make up some b.s? I also understand some of you will say "have faith", but in what? You don't know if any of it is actually true, how do you have faith in something that u dont even know exists. its like me saying i have faith in my toy dinosaur becoming president of the united States. yes, there was a bible written, but no one knows if it is true.

everything I enjoy in life God considers a sin. I like booz, I like having lots of sex partners, I like bad language, I like money, I love tv shows like South Park and I absolutely love science class. I don't get why God considers these things a sin, especially since I am not hurting anyone. I don't have a girlfriend or a wife and kids to take care of and I have no family. I am not hurting anyone except maybe myself. Why should God care what I do so long as I don't hurt anyone. It's stupid, he shouldn't consider fun a sin.

I am an Atheist. However, I was rased Christian and was baptized at a Baptist church. I've been an Atheist for around 20 years, and haven't attended church for nearly 30 years. Yet I still receive church bulletins in the mail.

I've recently learned that the church still considers me an official member. I've asked around, and it seems most (if not all) religious institutions do the same thing.

Therefore, considering how many Atheists (or people who no longer consider themselves religious but may not label themselves) are still listed as members, the numbers provided for statistical purposes MUST be horribly inaccurate.

I'm referring to statistical data which claims the vast majority of U.S. citizens are Christian and of the non-Christians, the majority are of another religion. Which makes it seems like there are very few Atheists in the U.S.

Obviously, there are great numbers of Atheists. Look how many are here? (for instance)

OK, So I was raised Christian. My family was a holiday-only church-goer type. A lot of things in Christianity bothered me. I thought it was because I didn't understand it fully, and needed to be more serious. I wentto church every Sunday to start, then to Bible study groups, and soon I was reading and studying the Bible, including talking things over with my Pastor everyday. Things still didn't make any sense, so I studied the other major world religions and quickly found I was stuck between being Pagan or Atheist. I see "God" like Spinoza, but I understand the need to anthropomorphize "God" in order to connect easier with It, and that's what I've been doing by puting the faces of Isis and Osiris on "God". I've just always been comfortable with the Egyptians, can't explain it.

It is a powerful tool to control the masses.

It is a crutch for weak-minded people.

It is a man-made lie.

It seperates, rather than unites.

I have been told by Christians that I am a horrible mother who doesn't love her children because I am not Christian. I have been told I am leading my daughter to hell and should have her taken away from me. I have been told my gods are "false", "demonic", and that I am stupid to believe in them. I have been told my religion is "make believe" and that if I don't repent then I will rot and I deserve it. I have been told my religion is the dowfall of the United States. I have been sneered at, judged, and damn near spit on. And when it's all said and done, I am told "it's for my own good" that they "are just trying to save me" (I guess I'm not smart enough to save myself?) and that I WILL believe one day whether I like it or not.
Why on earth would I choose to let that in my life and around my kids? Why on earth would ANYONE? While not all Christians are like this, its the ones that ARE that are asking why people don't like them. You SERIOUSLY wonder?

Several different studies have found that the population of Christians in prison far outweighs the population of atheists - and the studies accounted for the difference in overall population. "Note that atheists, being a moderate proportion of the USA population (about 8-16%) are disproportionately less in the prison populations (0.21%). "

How can God be perfect, if some of the things he makes defy him? Was he testing us or himself?

In the USSR and China, the phenomenon of Stalin and Mao, respectively, is often referred to as a "cult" of personality.

In fact, in N. Korea, there is a state religion called Juche. Among its tenets is that national founder (Kim Il Sung) is divine and his son (current leader Kim Jong Il) had a miraculous birth - complete with a rainbow over the small house where he came into the world (sound familiar?).

I know that some denominations believe that the Eucharist is a symbol. Others say that it really is Jesus (either spiritually or actually transformed into him). Looking at the Bible, it seems to me that the latter of the two groups has the most support. No where have I seen a verse in which Jesus says "This is My metaphorical Body... this is My symbolic Blood."
