everything I enjoy in life God considers a sin. I like booz, I like having lots of sex partners, I like bad language, I like money, I love tv shows like South Park and I absolutely love science class. I don't get why God considers these things a sin, especially since I am not hurting anyone. I don't have a girlfriend or a wife and kids to take care of and I have no family. I am not hurting anyone except maybe myself. Why should God care what I do so long as I don't hurt anyone. It's stupid, he shouldn't consider fun a sin.

God cares, because He cares about you!

I don't know what god you have been talking to, but my God invented the idea of fun. You have some misconceptions about God. Money is a good thing. Money is not sin. The "love" of money leads us to sin. But money in itself isn't.

God invented the whole idea of sex. He knows that a monogamous relationship with one person is the best way to experience sex. It is the best environment to learn how to give pleasure, and not just take. Without the protective bounds of the love and commitment of marriage, sex is just another exercise is selfish consumerism.

God really does care for you, and wants the best for you. Jesus came that you might have life, and life more abundantly! He wants to liberate you so that you can know wholeness.

I pray that you would come to understand how profound God's love for you really is, and the wonderful adventure that awaits you if you would but embrace Jesus as your Lord, and your Saviour.

Where does it say that God doesn't want you to have a good time? Remember that there are consequences to everything that you do. Sure a free willing society will tell you to go ahead and do whatever makes you happy, but are they looking at the big picture?

You say you like to booze. Well what about drunk driving, or when you are rude or hurtful to a friend or even a stranger in your boozing state of mind?

You say you have lots of sex partners. Well did you know that many venereal diseases are a cause of promiscuity? Sure you can use a condom, but despite what people say in the heat of the moment a condom, will be an after thought.

What does your love of science class prove. I love my science class too.

You say you love bad languages. Well if you are constantly using bad language to convey your thoughts, well um......

_______

Main thing is that no one lives on an island. What you do may effect everyone. So think before you do.

Christians consider those to be sins because
1. Booze in excess hurts the body God gave you and could potentially kill you. A glass of wine at dinner is not a sin. A bottle every day at dinner is.
2. Bad language in my opinion is only bad if you say G-dd-mm-t or something along the lines of that. Words like f-ck and sh-t aren't bad in my opinion because they don't really mean anything.
3. Money is OK to have because it helps you live a good life. Money makes the world go round, and if you don't have it you're screwed. If you hoard it and don't share it then it becomes bad because you become greedy.
4. South Park is only bad because of the profanity. I've never watched it myself but my friends who do watch it say it is stupid (I have no idea why they watch it then).
5. Science class isn't sinful because God wouldn't have given us the ability to learn it if He didn't want us to.
6. Having lots of sex partners is bad because you have a really high chance of getting STDs. Also sex is only right if you and your partner are married and trying to make a baby and of opposite gender. Sex for fun is just in my opinion sick.

Well, you are right. You are only hurting yourself. But yes it is sinful, but NO God does not care. But for sure expect a real and awful punishment for not having done the correct things in this life. You obviously have some inclination to knowing what is wrong and right. Having many partners destroys society as a whole and getting drunk makes one forget oneself and their reality. Bad language is downright rude, and money earned and used properly is not sinful. South park? Never watched it so there's an answer for you. And as for science class, there is nothing wrong with finding out about the creation that God made, as long as you remember He made it and it didn't make itself.

sin can hurt yourself, so I think you answered your own question. You have multiple sex partners, what if you had AIDS or some other STD- you could be hurting a whole lot of women. You like booze- one day you may be drunk and drive, and kill someone. You may not think you are hurting anyone but yourself, but look closely- just hurting yourself saddens God, because He wants what is best for you- not what you think is best either- because in the long run, sin will be the death of you.

I'll ask you the same question my therapist asked me, which was pivotal: How do you know God considers these things a sin? I know lots of people will agree with you that God thinks this but, really, I don't think any of these people have God's telephone number or speak directly to God somehow.
I used to do many of these things, and I think a big part of the buzz was that someone thought it was wrong and I was defying them. These things were the best I could do in the mental state I was in at the time. As I grew and my mental state changed my behaviors started to change with it. Not because they were right or wrong but simply because I lost interest in them. I didn't see them as the best way to get what I wanted out of life.

Well, Having pictures is a sin, But everyone has them. (Second commandment) Thou shalt make no graven images of any thing on the earth or the heavens above or the seas below. So that must mean pictures are harmful and god does not like it. The same as sex & booze. Remember now, You are NOT supposed to break any of gods laws or you will burn in HE double hockey sticks.

Sin is anything that separates you from God. First of all, science class is not a sin, so we'll skip that one. But, the other things you mentioned lead to temporary fun, but not so fun consequences. Booz can lead to a life of addiction, multiple sex partners can lead to STD's, money can lead to greed, etc. You get the idea.

God is not against you having fun. He wants you to have the right kind of fun just like He intended. Think of Him being your father who loves you and wants the best for you. I am a Christian and have had tons of fun in my life.

But, if you're hurting yourself, you're hurting someone. God created us, so that means He knows our anatomy and what's best for us better than we do.
It's okay to drink. Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine! But, are you getting drunk and ruining your kidneys?
Fornication and bad entertainment have negative aftermath. The love of money is dangerous because it can make us greedy. There's a scripture that says, "the love of money is the root of all sorts of injurious things..."
There's nothing wrong with having fun! But, there's injurious fun and there's wholesome fun. Jehovah God wants us to be happy because the Bible calles Him the "happy God."

:) Take care,
Jenny

I wish I had a shorter answer for you, but if you'll read the dying words of the richest man that ever lived, a guy who practically invented the concept of "party like a rock star," who denied himself nothing in the way of physical indulgences, you'll see that God's desire is not to deny you fun, but to prevent the inevitable crushing damage that results. Instead, God would rather give you "joy" and "peace" that are eternal.

BTW: God has nothing against fun... but sin that masquerades as fun, that He opposes out of a desire to protect you because He loves you.
