Why is it that when you start talking about your own religion, (I am Wiccan by the way) that some people start preaching about how you shouldn't believe in anyone but the one's they believe in?
It pisses me off!>.<

Let's say you're born as a starving child in Kenya. Why did your soul choose that life? Or if you are born to a family of KKK members in Lousiana? How can reincarnation be real?

If no one has any proof, how do you know you didn't?

The more closed-minded someone is, the less room they have for error, right?

What if God isn't what you think?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkpAtz0xdQL6ve3HdD6XCN3sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071125190242AA5ny7m
and now my question:
human soul is such preciuos and powerfull existence that can
effect the matter and force the matter to accept the rulls dictated by soul even in a different way of material rules and laws(my father used lto ive in india and told many strange stories about things that "Jukies" do like stopping a train by their will)
if you do believe this too,so why our soul can not stop us from dieing?why can't the sould stop the body of getting old?is this not true that there is a date for all of us?is death a question of "faith"?wich can be delayed no longer?

Before I start, I'll have you know I consider myself a devout mormon. In the past general conferences, the general authorities have brought up the subject that men and women are equal in all things. I believe they are equal in the eyes of God. But in marriage, God definately put one in greater authority. Scriptures in the new testament hint at this: 1 Corinthians 11:8+9, 1 Corinthians 14:34+35, and Ephesians 5:22+23+24. This last scripture compares Husband and Wife to Christ and the church which clearly puts one above the other in authority if not pretty much everything. Why then, does it seem like the church officials almost seem to accuse all the bretheren of unrighteous dominion over their wives? When they say that the wives are equal to the husbands in family decision and even all things, I believe this is something Paul would not have us believe. I believe this leads to insubordinate women and femenism in the church. Anybody think so?

Christians believe that the sins of father are visited upon the future generations?
Now by that Christian logic, the Black man and the Native Americans have a right to avenge the Sins of the White man on the current generations of whites!
How do you justify this? if you say it is not applicable why do you quote it whenever suitable?

I was Catholic, a Mormon and a last non denominational Christian. Now I am not active at all. I'm not sure if it's because I am losing faith, or that I am becoming an atheist. I don't feel anything when I am at church anymore. Ever since I first started working a hospice, I became more open minded, more spiritual, but less religious, or not at all religious.

I feel something around mother nature... I feel relaxed when I am walking through a park, looking at the sky day or night, sailing on a boat, when it rains or snows, I fear but have a deep respect of nature's disasters such as twisters, hurricanes, etc.. I feel that a plant has feelings... is this a psychological problem??

I feel lost...

I don't want to be preached, and no sarcasm please. I just want appropriate opinions from everyone of all different faiths. Thank you!

It just seems to me that today as more and more people are getting better education, then more and more people are turning agnostic or atheist. I think a common comment from todays youth is "I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual". Is this a clue that people are starting to apply their education towards evaluating religion and beginning to step away from it? Although they aren't fully agnostic or atheist they certainly show they are questioning organized religion.

I was speaking with a church go'er, and we were talking about religion. He told me that if I condone someone being gay (or even love them) then it makes me a sinner.

My mother is gay. (well both of them) I was raised by two women. Now, if I choose to have faith, no matter how much I believe, because I love both my moms, I will be a sinner.

Have you ever heard of such?

We all do, I did.
You have to question everything and everyone on the quest for the ultimate truth. The Bible is not the perfect book as many want you to believe and you, only you, should consider whether the Bible is relevant to your life or not. Don't let others fool or misguide you.
Your life is yours.

Why is everyone so up in arms over what category questions are placed? We place our questions in certain categories for our own reasons, and because regulars who frequent those categories are more apt to see them there.

And no it doesn't clog up any system. If you don't like the question, the simple solution is to roll over it.

It doesn't make much sense. Jesus was a Jew. Why is there Christianity if he was a Jew? And the thing is, Christians probably dislike Jews.

I know some girls may have asked similar questions before, but I also need advice. I will be going to college this fall & I have decided to wear hijab and start a new way of life. I believe it is mandatory for muslim women to wear it, but my mom doesn't agree. She thinks it's unncessary. My dad is definitely fine with it. My mom thinks I should just dress modestly without the hijab. She says it's just an arab custom (I'm african). But I told her the majority of arabs are muslim, that is why the majority of them wear it. I also thought to myself, If we don't have to wear the hijab regularly, why don't we pray or enter a mosque without it then? I know I am definitely going to do it before I go to college. I would do it tomorrow if I could, but I am in my last year in a catholic h.s. & I'm afraid it will cause problems if I suddenly show up with a hijab. I feel guilty about that though. I don't know if it's wrong not to wear it for that reason. Hijabi women, I prefer your answers.
