Do any kind of example you like?
eg. Do you believe in physics?
Do you know the various laws of physics? Which you can see in action.
Two equal and opposite forces cancel each other out.
Take volleyball for instance - a spiker versus a blocker, if their timing is exact, they will cancel each other out. And the ball drops straight down.
You can see the other laws of physics working too, during volleyball...
With God - there is no proof whatsoever to show that God does indeed exist, and is present.
None at all.
Make up any thought experiment you like to prove this - or disprove it?
To have God as a belief only - is of no use at all.
You want something concrete from a connection with God (if such a being exists?) - and not just an imagined connection.
because
It means you can believe in anything at all (anything) and that can be real. Which of course, is complete nonsense.

No. God is a forgiving God. He also knows what I'm thinking and knows how much I've battled over whether or not He truly exists. If He truly exists, then He won't abandon me. Remember the old footprints in the sand poem? I don't know if He's out there or not, but yes, someday I will know for sure as will we all.

If there is a God it could be Thor. And he will not take pity on your belief in Yahweh.
Look: There are thousands of religions. All of them could be wrong. None of them have evidence. There is no way to argue about which one is real.
You do the math. If you believe and waste live following a religion, chances are you've screwed yourself.
Pascal's wager was debunked a long time ago.
Pass the cognac.

Do I have to believe in all the gods throughout history to be saved or just the god that you believe in?

And your point of posting this is what.
I mean come on. If we don't believe what you believe, this is like asking you if it bothers you that you will be stabbed to death by a pink unicorn in your sleep tonight because you don't believe in it.

1) It wastes my life.
2) What's the chance that it'll be your God? Pascals Wager LEIK WHOAH.
3) If the God isn't yours, won't the deity be more angry that you are worshipping another God than if you worship no God at all?

There's a lot of "what ifs" in your question. If you are suggesting that someone should force themselves to believe in something that they really don't have faith in "just in case it's real", then I feel very sorry for you.
Faith is not about "what if". Wanting to be right should not be a motivation for believing in something. You believe in something because it feels real to you, not out of fear that otherwise you'll be punished.

While that certainly isn't the most selfish reason to worship GOD, I am sure it is up there in the top 10.

If the God of the bible exists then he is omniscient. Therefore he will know that I only believe in him because I don't want to go to hell. Pascels wager implies that we can fool an omniscient being.
