Listen to Neil Rogers on WQAM 560 between 10 AM - 2 PM weekdays. He does parodys of Christmas songs & Chanuka songs, even one for Ramadon. (This is US eastern time). You can listen on the internet. That's only part of the show.

I'd say that many songs are good atheist songs, since there isn't really anything to get in arms about no matter what it says concerning religion. When you think about it...songs about love, caring, hate, anger...it's all the human experience...so what woudl the probem be for an atheist (other than songs that should be offensive to most people, like condoning domestic violence or child abuse, etc...)

"The Ballad of the Big Bean Theory"

It tells the tale of the universe beginning with a "Big Bean"
Some how this enormous bean appears, swells up with gas over the years, then explodes. Tiny bean particles spread throughout creating the heavens. I'm not going to get into the "Black Hole Theory" even though I think It's by the same band.

Since this is the Taiwan Mandarin version, I assume there's an English version out there, but until I find it, I'll have to make my best attempt at translating this. So do bear with me, as I am no lyricist; and forgive me, Stanley Huang fans!!

Atheist
Stanley Huang

(If I'm not in heaven
Will you be happy?)

I wish to believe that miracles can happen
I want our fairy tale to be not just a passing moment
I wish to live happily ever after and never part
But I can't go to heaven, I can't be with you
A non-existent eternity
I don't believe there is a God

(Chorus)
Is death the end
(Do we stop missing)
Can I never kiss your face again
(No matter how much I miss you)

I truly wish we could live happily ever after and never part
Only you can go to heaven, I can't make it there
A non-existent eternity
I don't believe there is a God

Is death the end
(Do we stop missing)
Can I never kiss your face again
(No matter how much I miss you)
As long as missing doesn't change, no matter how far
I'll be in your heart

(Chorus)

(Where our eternity lies, there lies my belief)

Most bands that are politically charged will do it for you....

Anything by Bad Religion (God's Love, American Jesus, New America, The Defense... to start).

Pennywise (Alien, My God, Divine Intervention, Land of the Free?)

Anti-Flag- they're more political and anti-Bush (Anatomy of Your Enemy, 9/11 for Peace)

System of a Down (Chop Suey!, Boom!)

AFI (God Called in Sick Today)

...please let me know if you enjoy; there's plenty more.

Almost all secular music is based on an atheist worldview. What are you talking about? If you are Atheist then you can have free sex with no moral restraints. There are a gazillion songs glorifying that. Without God - there is selfishness, pride, hurting people's feelings etc......... Life at it's best is all about sex and at it's worst having to pay the natural consequences for one's actions. That's what all popular music is about - is it not? Without God - many people feel extremely hopeless and angry - that's another common theme among modern popular music of almost every genre. Almost every artist out there is an Atheist - whether or not they come out and say it - it's obvious there is no God in their eyes.

i don't expect many to be into metal, but the lyrics themselves are really good philosophies, you should at least look up the lyrics.
