I am a person who suffers from a myriad of mental disorders. Included are Post Traumatic Stress Disease and Bi-Polar Disorder. Until I realized that their was something wrong with me nothing could help. Then I went to the Mental Health Clinic at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. I entered therapy, I have both a psychiatrist and a psychologist, and I am on a regiment of medications. I can now mostly function in the world. I still have my good days and my bad days. (Why do you think I am answering your question at 3:46 in the morning? It because I cannot sleep without nightmares and I cannot sleep because I am scared).

Mental Illness is just as much an illness as arthritis, slipped disk, and cancer. I know because I have them all. Without proper treatment I would be a crippled, moody dead person six feet under somewhere.

Well your first answerer did not read your Curriculum vita.

I suspect the answer is a bit more complex than you suggest. While all of the above are supposed to have some mystical religious component they are usually fakes. That is fakes as far as helpers of those who trust them and fakes in religion as well. "Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof."

There can be spiritual healing of mental disorders but not by rituals.

No way
but it can be treated without drugs, as the drugs and idiots do not teach the individual the right thought and emotional pattern but show them the fastest path to self destruction.

While I do believe there are rare cases where the cause is demon possession, most all cases are probably biologically caused and thus better treated medically.
