In love, there is no disagreement; there is no threat. Do you think a mind that is not in a state of love; is a religious mind at all???? A question for all and those misguided religious extremists, responsible for so much hatred and destruction all over.

My dad is getting remarried in a month, and he asked me to attend his wedding. It's going to be painful to see him get married, and I don't know if I can suck it up enough to go. Also my mom doesn't want me to go, because of how my dad has treated my dad like crap over the years. Also this marriage will cause emotional and financial problems for my mother. I don't know what to do...

Take 100 Catholics and 100 Protestants and pair them up. Now one pair after the other has to face-off. Whoever gets slapped in the face first must continiously turn his cheek until the other one is satisfied. If anyone of them breaks the rule and refuses to turn his cheek, then he's considered a fake christian. Because he was unable to follow Jesus' teaching!

Let it begin!

I am an atheist, and I am extremely logic-oriented. because no belief system can be proven correct, I essentially have no basis for anything that I do, except ideas that aren't really based on anything (preservation of life, for example). Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do?

Shouldn't there be some mention of the great pyramids which are some of the largest man made structures of that time and even today? It seems odd that it was never mentioned.

Keep in mind transsexuals aren't necessarily HOMOsexuals. I know how some of these religious people feel about THAT. And I'd like responses from your heart. Not what your church thinks, or your bible thinks..I wanna know what PEOPLE think.

To call ourselves Atheists rather than Adeists? Since a Deist rejects revelation and believes in a God based on reason, wouldn't it make more sense to be called an adeist? Because if we don't believe in God, then "divine revelation" is completely out of the picture, isn't it?

No, not a monkey. A common ape-like ancestor. This is what I know to be true, and as a Christian, is even more glorious and amazing than anything I can imagine. God continually creates this universe, and supports the life within it by His breath. He created this universe and life to evolve from simple to complex, from unconscious to conscious, from unliving to living, from beast to child of God.

To imagine that God created this plan of evolution for us to get closer to Him, to me, is such a beautiful prospect, and shows His immense love for us as His creation. You think this negates Christ and His sacrifice? On the contrary, His sacrifice both covered our sins for this age, where everyone will be responsible for their own in the next, they will work out their salvation on their own. Also, His ultimate sacrifice shows us how to evolve further spiritually through sacrifice of our own, to become like the Christ that He is. He is perfect, we become so by following his example.

think about it. lets say you actually do make it to heaven, you have to spend eternity being good and not committing any sins at all! because just cause you got there that doesnt mean you'll stay there! but if you just die and not go anywhere then you can finally rest and not have to worry about sinning or the possibility of it!

so am I the only one who thinks no eternal life is actually better than heaven?

won them back with miracles and deliverers, and forgave them. Some Israelites lived long enough to see several amazing, large-scale miracles.

Since He was willing to go through all that trouble to convince the Israelites and convince them several times over, why will He now punish atheists with eternal damnation when there hasn't been any miracles like that in thousands of years?

As an atheist, I feel cheated. I want to see seas parted, and have a deliverer smite my enemies. What made the Israelites so special?
