In my experience I know a lot of Jewish and Muslim people and they all know a lot about Christianity. Many of the Catholics I know haven't a clue of Jewish or Islam beliefs or traditions. Is this only where I'm from or is the case for the majortiy?

Why is it that the Jews and Muslims appear to know so much about Christianity; even knowing more than most Christians?

Most Christians seem unaware that the OT had been revised and extensively edited many times before the time of Jesus, but this is obvious to the observant scholar of the current text. Written Jewish history confirms this editing was done. Archaeology proves that the Jews were polytheistic through a large part of their history. They were released from the Babylonian captivity about 459 BCE by the Persians, subsequently their religion was greatly influenced by the monotheistic Persian religion of Zoroastrianism. Shortly after this time Ezra and his associates edited the OT deleting most references to the gods and goddesses of the Jews’ previous polytheism.
The Jews were originally a branch of the Canaanites (whom the Greeks called Phoenicians), this is obvious because their Hebrew language is derived from the Canaanite language and has also been proven by archaeology. The Canaanites had a very complex pantheon of gods and goddesses. El was the father of the gods and references to him can still be found in the OT (eg El Shaddai - El the almighty). Asherah was his wife.
One of their numerous children was Yahweh who was El’s cup bearer (wine waiter). Later Asherah became Yahweh’s wife (sacred incest). Yahweh eventually evolved into the deity that Christians call ‘god the father’.
Small household votive idols of the happy couple, Yahweh and Asherah are common archaeological finds on the sites of ancient Jewish houses in Israel. They date up until at least the times of the Davidic monarchies (about 1000 BCE).

So why do Christians ignore and do no honour to god’s father El, his mother-wife Asherah, and all his numerous sacred siblings?

Please do not answer this question with Biblical quotes, as they are irrelevant in this context.

are one then that says to me that god is all three.
if that is true then wouldn't it be true that god did not indeed give his son to be sacrificed but gave himself thereby being no real sacrifice?
wouldn't it also be true that jesus was god in the flesh of a man?
and wouldn't also be true that when jesus was tempted it was no real temptation because god could not be tempted?

If you're a Muslim, how would you describe yourself; as a modern or traditional Muslim?

I'm doing a research paper comparing and contrasting some views between these two, anyone interested?

The Jehovah's Witnesses withdraw a much criticised ban on accepting blood transfusions, but say they are still wrong.

Why did Catholics add books to the Old Testament? The men of the great assembly met between 310 and 410 BC. During this period they decided which books should be included in the Tanach (the Jewish Bible). The books that they included exactly match the Protestant Old Testament. Thus the books that were to be included in the OT were decided by Jews at least 300 years before Jesus was born on Earth. Since the law and the OT was given to the Jews why did the Catholics add to it? Men who were part of this assembly included Ezra, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. I would think these guys would know what they were doing. So why did the Catholics add these books when the Jews considered them uninspired?

Would a truly omnipresent God fit in with your understanding of things, or would you have to reject that idea? Why?

When a child who has been misled into thinking that Santa is real says ; "but Dad, Santa CAN give all the toys to kids, he has MAGIC reindeer!"
Don't they sound JUST like christians who claim that "god doesn't follow the rules and laws of nature, he INVENTED them!"
I mean how pathetic is it when an adult can't tell the difference between reality and make believe?
At least most kids eventually come to terms that Santa is a myth...

Many people say that Mormons are not Christians and teach things that go against the Bible...

I took lessons from the LDS Missionaries for 5 years, and it took me those 5 years to accept it. In those 5 years, and even continuing today, I have not read anything that goes against the Bible....

So can you show me something, with SCRIPTURAL reference(and make sure it's the correct verse before you post it) from Mormon scriptures that goes against what the bible says?

When some of them so gleefully say things like "I hope you enjoy burning in hell", which phrase has ACTUALLY been used on here, do they ever look at the other side of the coin? What if an atheist or pagan doctor told a christian "you have cancer and I hope you enjoy dying slowly in so much pain that morphine can't stop it". Before anyone says that this is a different situation, it isn't THAT different. Either way, it is someone gloating over the pain and suffering, they ACTUALLY BELIEVE the other will have to go through. The only real difference is that there are no pagans or atheists that I personally know who would ever be happy about someone suffering. Even if the pain (hell) is a figment of the persons imagination, it is still evil to smugly wish any bad thing on another person who has never caused you harm. It is just as bad to take pleasure or satisfaction in the THOUGHT of another person suffering. Your opinions?
